Day 9 is one of the main pillars of the SC2 community so his word is golden and doesn't need to be questioned. He retired to make esports bigger so doesn't need to prove his worth in sc2 cause we all know he would be ripping up tourneys if he was still playing competitively.
I want to contribute intelligently to this conversation, but this is all I can do...
...*shelters Tyler from the crazies*
Edit: Wait, I can say more.
SotG is my favourite podcast. I love Day9 as much as the next nerdlette, but I love listening to Tyler and iNcontrol. Love it. And just because Day9's not there, doesn't make it terrible. And just because Tyler's not Day9, doesn't make him wrong.
The main thing that was a bit disappointing about the show was I didn't get to hear Idra's thoughts on mass ling/baneling ZvP style. I definitely liked hearing thoughts on how the community could be improved.
Wait, so is Day9 off as a pillar? Haven't listened to 30 (don't have the time) but he's been absent lately, no? Didn't hear any news on him leaving but everyone here's acting like he did. Could someone clear that up?

Whoa.....you definitely cannot make that assumption. I say that not because I think Day9 wouldn't be a competitive player, but because so many little things can happen in a game that can shape the outcome. You know what happens when you assume......
frankly I find tyler's attitude in here appalling. I want him removed from TLAF and banned from SOTG until he publicly apologizes for not winning tourneys and having the audacity to comment on other SC2 players.

I second this motion.
Perhaps we could tie him up in the city square and stone him.

Nah, just hold his ferrets hostage.
Damn you, Holy War, live up to your fucking name. Stoning in city squares should be your thing.
That being said, holding the ferrets hostage is also a good idea. Sho cyoot.

Ironic coming from the guy who throws the most barbs at other players but can't take the heat when barbs are thrown back at him and gets overly sensitive at criticism like you did in that one thread not too long ago.
Then you made a ridiculous analogy that you can talk shit other players because you play on their level while us forum peons don't so should never dare question your play and results.
I guess all sports fans should never ever criticize players cause we can't play on their level. We can't call donovan mcnabb a choker cause we're not on his level. We can't call the miami heat a bunch of cry babies cause we're not on their level.

Umm..i'm pretty sure he's being sarcastic.
Of course I know he's being sarcastic silly. It's a response to him making a smart alack remark at all my posts.

That's the thing though. I originally listened to SotG for gossip and inside info from the competitive scene - comments and opinions on other players were the best part of the show.
You guys rarely have much to about say about players in recent tournaments or GSL other than the fact that the they apparently suck or are unimpressive.
I'm not so presumptuous to ask that you change the show or anything, but I'm just offering my thoughts on the matter. I'm sorry if I touched a nerve in criticizing Tyler though.
Y'all are crazy shit and complain too much. SoTG is a gift from the heavens and extremely entertaining. Every person on it is F***ing awesome. You guys need to sit back, grab a beer, grab a smoke, and just chill out. Play some starcraft, grab your girl (or guy), and listen to some sweet people talk about a sweet game.

I think Tyler is good enough at getting stoned on his own
Bottom line: Lol even harder when Tyler wins NASL and InC passes out from casting such an exciting final.
Back to the cast: I really like how the newer expansion-heavy ling/bane ZvP style was addressed and even what Pro Prot's like InC did as a response (go play 50 games agaisnt it). Nice to hear what a Pro does as a response to development in the game.
This is a clear example of how the game is evolving out of set roles or "standards".
EDIT: just watched the above video and straight lost it
