Other than that it was all valid criticisms. IdrA seems to think I scare people away more than I bring in which I dont agree with. Was glad to hear him be mature about it though rather than the 'he is a skilless idiot who just cares about money'. There's a reason why you don't cast live events / live online tourneys. I'll let you find the reason through introspection.
That isn't really helpful discussion, if you want to criticise at least tell him why.

^ Maybe because he is younger and not a college grad? He's the layman version of a sportscaster!

Geoff, perhaps you should try swapping around the critique and the compliment...... normally you start with "i like this guy, hes great" and finish with the constructive criticism..... if you did it the other way around perhaps these morons would use their selective memories to focus on the good thing you said instead of the criticism you gave...... but then again, this is the interwebs...... and of course just like in real sports, being professional (according to said morons) is never saying anything funny, inciteful, critical or true......... I have never once heard a football commentator pick apart a players mistakes or given an opinion.... oh wait....
and @husky, your casts aren't my cup of tea but then I'm sure my casts wouldn't be your cup of tea either! Keep doing what you are doing, so long as you find it fun.

There's no need for my criticism. It's really just a matter of opinion, you don't see Husky casting any live events or online tourneys... because the people who run them never request him to be there. So it isn't really my opinion/criticism that matters, it's the tournament runners' opinions that do. To illustrate this...Take MLG for example, you have Husky one time and the rest you never see his face again.
Also, if Husky really wanted to help esports with his youtube popularity I would like to give him some suggestions. 1)Make an introductory video for those who are completely new to starcraft or competitive starcraft 2) Plug gomtv, mlg, nasl with a specific video. (don't just be like "ohhh hey check this out" right before or after a starcraft replay cast) 3) HDH2

Don't hate on the Brotoss, they are an awesome part of the show. Most the stuff they say is in good fun.

I was actually going to PM Husky here or on YouTube with this matter but it seems relevant to the discussion here and I hope he will read it.
Something that I really dislike about both yours and HD's videos you put up on YouTube is that most of times (from what I can remember) you don't mention where you got the replays from. As in which tournament, who their sponsors are and if it has been casted before. Many times I go to YouTube and try find a game I remember seeing on some other cast and I find a casted version put up by you or HD and it feels like you are both taking content and viewers from the original casters who might even have been an official caster for that tournament.
So yeah, I wish you could give some more credit to the guys you got the replay from and even mention who did cast it originally. I'm sure it won't affect your own viewer count with your already great amount of fame/popularity.

could be just me, but thought it was an amusing comparison from last podcast about DT vs Banshee;
tyler and incontrol = ricky gervais and steve merchant, and painuser is the (somewhat less funny) carl pilkington

Don't people have any sense of humor in the Starcraft community? Seriously. Stop watching the show if you don't see a difference between serious discussion and joking.

Husky probably isn't invited around the world like Day9 because he doesn't have the same gaming credentials (WCG, ICCup, tourney experience) and also day9 has a degree relating to his interactive web media hobby and passion! Husky still deserves sponsored support and donations to continue to entertain the general public.
HDH2 would be great publicity, guest appearances on DJwheats casts, TSL guest appearance with Chill and DJwheat, or helping connect the east to the Western E-sports scene.
BTW being a good player is f...ing hard and that's a big reason why day9 gets respect! Plus Nick opened the door for the Plott brothers being on countless vods over in Korea and plenty of WCG footage with him and Djwheat!

quick question: in the HDH invitational didnt they pre-record the cast of the games and then stream the video? i said this because when they did MLG, it wasnt very good to be honest, wich mya explain why they dont get invited to do live casting in other tournaments because there you just cant hide your mistakes re-making the video.
i hope when idra returns to the usa, he get a spot in the show as a regular, he is pretty much already a pilar of the show.

The best way to go about it, is the good old sandwich strategy. Start with something positive, then the negative stuff and finish with a nice compliment :D.

I really hope he doesn't. We already have pretty much every personality on the show. Idra is like a much more extreme version of Incontrol, really don't need that clouding the useful discussions that go on on SOTG.

I actually do get invited to a lot of events, I simply cannot travel around the world constantly as I have irl obligations as well as tons of commitments on the gaming front.
Buuuuuut going into detail on that will just bring up the next talking point.

Actually your response is the common explanation that I've heard over and over again. IdrA played 12 games at IEM on day 1 and won 8 of them. All replays where released yet the only 2 casted games are Idra's losses to Ace. Don't be a fool and just accept that "the only replays available are losses" as the sole excuse. I know there was a bit of bad blood between the casters and IdrA after the HDH final and IdrA hasn't been shy when discussing his disdain for the casters. I'm just wondering if this is still impacting which games Husky and HD decide to cast.
I'm not a hater, Husky and HD have done a great job promoting the community. I understand that drama attracts viewers and watching IdrA lose is good for viewership. But It's disappointing that the rhetoric and storyline propagated by such important members of the community seems to be fueled by personal grudges.

i hope that terran player (painuser?) wont apear on more casts. annoying voice and generally ignorant and unwilling to see things from other races/players perspectives (banshee discussion, im pretty sure no other top terran player would side with him in that discussion)

Tyler wins huge points for his framed Elliott Smith print.

It is his opinion. I can understand people not agree with him, but to call him ignorant because he has his own opinion? xD more people should need a own opinion.

I didnt know IdrA was going to lose those games. I just got a lot of messages saying Ace was playing insanely well and I wanted to see the games (if you notice I cast 3 sets of Ace games)
Opened the replay pack and saw IdrA's name. Thats all there is to it. I'm not trying to smear him as a player or make him look bad. The majority of his games ARE from ladder matches uploaded by people who beat him.
If people are honestly that bent out of shape over it they are just making a big deal out of nothing.
Yes, IdrA does make fun of me a lot and say im worthless/in it for the money or whatever. Thats IdrA's persona. It doesnt affect which games of his I cast, I'm not 6.

Let me preface this by saying I don't watch youtube sc2 videos at all but do watch lots of live streams of players/replay casts/tourneys. I've seen you a couple times and don't really care one way or the other (ie. I don't hate you or your work but I don't like your work enough to watch). I have heard of all the help you provide to other casters which I appreciate.
