Dunno if this has been posted yet, but iNcontrol's random rant against Artosis in that thread is infinitely more funny when put into verbal words.

The part about Vultures was pure gold. Heck, the entire post is quite relevant nowadays considering that despite BW's "balance," people can still find stuff to QQ about.

My favourite part is no matter how ridiculous Inc's parodies of the posts in this thread are, some mother fucker always comes out and one ups him by genuinely being just that much more of a humourless ass.

I have no idea what their BW history is like, but the few times Artosis and Incontrol have faced off in an argument on SOTG Artosis has come across infinitely smarter and his arguments more well reasoned despite his apparent predisposition to being a huge balance whiner. Go back and listen to the Shakuras Plateau and the Phoenix/Infestor ptr arguments for examples.
incontrol is pretty funny...in an obvious in your face out to offend kind of way but even in their style of humour artosis is more clever the guy just kills me on gsl

Is it me or is Incontrol getting less and less funny as these podcast increase? I think it’s because he is trying to force the jokes it’s not organic.
Also another little problem is JP. he keep repeating stuff and really bashing every joke/comment over the head (announcement of an announcement) comes to mind and when Incontrol is not making jokes he will keep commenting on it and asking why he is not making jokes the same goes with stuff likeTyler's chilling .
so mix it up JP and say new thing ! Incontrol relax and just let it happen ! But these are all little thing really like the show keep it up.

I have to agree with this sentiment. I was starting to feel like incontrol was trying WAY too hard last night. Also, the announcement of an announcement stuff stopped being funny weeks ago.
I did, however, enjoy MLG-Sundance shedding some light on how MLG works and the plans for this season and beyond.

So the shows main host is the problem?
Good going......

So you take one line totally out of context come on mate if you’re not going to bother to read what my little problem with him is there is really no point in me stating all his good qualities and why he makes a good host.

Listening to the latest podcast I appreciate how on SoTG I can usually listen to progamer-nerds talking rather than bussinessman-entrepreneur, because when making a point when answering a question they usually follow it up with logical, clear arguements not some "inspirational" politician-like babble. But still, ups for Sundance for making all of this .

i love that jp has started upping the preshow. there's actually too much awesome content in the community, i don't have time for it all and playing/uploading my own content

I agree Sundance was pretty cool overall. I'm a bit disappointed he never answered Tyler's question about the prize pool but it sort of makes sense. I think from his other comments it's safe to assume that he doesn't expect StarCraft to become really big immediately just because it's 2011 now. Instead, his plan seems to be to wait for it to grow up and then, by the end of the year, to have the scene ready for one really really massive tournament. This is probably what he is selling to the sponsors at the moment - a narrative that will grow up into this big event.
If anything, this is the only proper argument in defence of extended series. He doesn't view the tournaments as single events but as qualifications for the big tournament. So, although getting rid of the extended series would make the separate events more exciting, sticking with it makes some sense if you view every tournament from the points system perspective.
Perhaps I am totally wrong but both of these make sense from a business perspective and I think Sundance has a good plan for the future. And although what's good for the business is often bad for players and viewers, I don't think this is the case here - for now it's looking pretty good.

He didn't answer the question directly but I think he wanted people to understand that he needed a gigantic prize pool to show the sponsors and say "Hey, this is the big event, we are going to have big names here. Guaranteed."
I agree that he went on a tangent and wasn't very clear about it but that's what I got out of it. I also really like Sundance from what I've heard in this interview.

Um what exactly about artosis' post was logical? It was a purely opinionated rant on why a single map is imbalanced. He says in the post not to look at Korean statistics when talking about balance, but then guess what he does HE BRINGS UP KOREAN STATISTICS about the top Terran players dominance at that period of time.
Honestly it's a well known fact that on TL, that Artosis and IdrA cry imbalance far too often.

Yes, his argument was that the Korean statistics we normally use are misleading. In order to demonstrate this point, he obviously will have to bring up some Korean statistics. He brought up the Korean statistics to show a famous example from the past where they definitely don't tell the whole story. How did you not get that from his post?

Ok I guess I'm missing the point where he proved something. What was it?

I really liked what i heard from the MLG-sundance guy. Was interesting even though incontrol kept bashing him haha. I liked his "we didn't have the money to add starcraft in the middle of our season, but we did it anyway" Really shows that he saw the possibility of starcraft being huge in the upcoming season.
|
LOL fucking awesome they're sponsoring players now like the halo commercials :D. i didn't like sundance's stance in terms of how he was saying things but i really love sundance and i liked what he said the cursing was (kinda childish) really nice in terms of his stance on things. seeing the real sundance and not the guy on camera is interesting I miss when he casted halo definitely gonna go to the west coast event, maybe Cbus.

I really couldn't bare Sundance after listening 30 minutes into the podcast. They way he never gave direct answers and beat around the bush… it hurt my brains. I kind of understand that a CEO can’t make a yes or no statement on subjects the company hasn’t decided on yet. But then not just drift off into 3 minute monologues about how everybody has to stick together and make it happen! We got the first time that you value the community or let’s say free help from them. And as a CEO… does he swear as much when he has a meeting with his sponsors? Or does he think that gamers talk that way all the time?
