He is responding to the people who are getting bent out of shape about an off-color joke made during a podcast called “Drunk State of the Game”. The joke was in poor taste, but we all signed up to watch a show where the hosts were drinking. By the very nature of the show, the host’s judgment would be impaired and they are likely to say something that is a little offensive. We all know the hosts of the show and their guests. They are all well meaning, good hearted people. Even if people are offended, I think we can cut them some slack since they decided to put themselves out there in a compromised state for our entertainment.

Im offended when people don't accept others or make fun of others for the choices they make. I hate oppression of all sorts whether it be religious, racial, sexual etc. I made the comment before, but I want to make it again. The SC community and the E-sports community has an opportunity to say it doesn't matter if your a women, if your gay, straight. Transgendered, bisexual, asexual. It doesn't matter if your Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Odinist. atheist or Sikh. It doesn't matter what you do or where you come from. In E-sports the only thing that matters is that you like E-sports. If we truly want to grow into a respectable community, why can't be start off with the basics. #Respect. Great post!

Yesterday was a drunk episode so I guess you could let it slide. Problem is just that 2GD is like this every time and everwhere he shows up. A lot of people like this attitude, I on the other hand find it appalling/annoying enough to not watch 2gd studio or any of his shows even if they were great entertainment otherwise. I actively try to avoid anything where he's on. Keeping in mind what Tyler himself said at the end of the show about spreading the word and advertising esport and this community I'm pretty sure we should aspire to higher moral standards. And this isn't particularly hard to do. Just some basic respect in public isn't too much too ask for from anybody. Btw: Not speaking about this episode of SOTG or the hosts in particular but more in general. Don't need to overreact to that. I just don't want 2GD's method of operation to spread more than it already has. User was temp banned for this post.

Keep up the good work and if I had one SC2 related wish for 2013 it would be a regular SOTG with both Geoff and Tyler!

I personally did not mind 2GD call and even if it wasn't the most appropriate joke, I really hope it doesn't become the focal point of a episode that was otherwise full of laughter and great discussion. Keep up the good work and if I had one SC2 related wish for 2013 it would be a regular SOTG with both Geoff and Tyler! its 2GD and his sick humor, during Dreamhack 2011 (i think) Incontrol called him the dark knight of jokes and argumentation after that 2GD said that his own mother sucked cocks and that her diet of cum didn't make her fat or something similar. Most likely the people who reacted on it in this thread, and they aren't actually that many, maybe 5 or 6?, haven't really heard or seen him before, because if they did they really should aim this critique to 2GD and his own show, because he does this kind of dark jokes all the time lol. Seriously, it's insane some of the shit he says there. ![]()

If everyone just laughed or cringed and didn't blow this thread up it probably isn't a big deal and everyone moves on. All this does is keep what's said in the spotlight and if anything makes it an even worse situation, it isn't helping anything. Why does everyone feel the need to rush in like some super hero and speak on behalf of a group they don't understand or relate to either? The over political correctness is just as bothersome to me as the joke.

The over political correctness is just as bothersome to me as the joke. It's not only a single person. In this case, it's about transgender. In my opinion, picking on transgender is an arbitrary choice anyway. I want to get basic respect for what I am (I am not transgender, not even gay or bisexual, I am a straight nerd with no girlfriend though) and cannot think of a reason why someone else shouldn't be treated in an acceptive manner.

VOD still hours away due to youtube only allowing 2 video downloads per hour, then have to render a ~4.5hr video total show (not included pre-show) clocked in at 4hr12m ... will probably do something with eventually with preshow -jp

Can we all accept that the rest of the episode was a lot of fun and focus anything else but that one off color joke?

There are two questions here that get mixed up: - has 2GD made enough appalling / disgusting jokes that watching him is now unbearable? For me the answer is pretty straightforward - yeah, I've had enough of this guy. - should we have the option to make jokes based on things like race, nationality, gender etc? For me it's yes. The downside is that sometimes something as bad as 2GD will pop up. But I'd rather deal with it without any institutionally-backed censorship attempts.

Of course I'm not surprised that the SOTG thread has suddenly filled itself with butthurt over a joke 2GD of all people made. After all, the forums are full of white-knights. Apparently accepting women, the transgendered, or all races only means that we let them hang around us. We can't ever joke around like they're actually equals or our friends. That wouldn't be acceptance. That'd be....insulting? I mean, for the past year and a half we've readily accepted Scarlett into the fold of kickass gamers, and that only took us all of one day's worth of LR trolls who made "Scarlett's a dude" jokes whilst being banned and being shit on by the masses. But one joke from 2GD on a DRUNK STATE OF THE GAME is enough to undo all of that. Because....I'm still not sure why. Apparently one guy with a history of making off-color jokes/remarks can undo the acceptance that an entire community has made a point of establishing and perpetuating.
