Meh, whatever, i'm more disgusted by JP's lack of organisation than i am missing the show. SoTG was something awesome before day9 stopped attending, it has become either non-existant or just boring and shit.

JP, get your fucking shit together, you're starting to piss me and the whole community off, why the fuck are you even running this show?

The disconnect for me is: why does SotG need to be this huge production where all these ducks have to be lined up in row before anything can happen?

Numerous people who could potentially appear on a SotG have been discussing HotS all week on streams, other shows, on Skype, for hours and hours. JP has been streaming, doing real talks, appearing on shows. What else is needed? Not everyone will come on for free but there are more than enough interesting guests who would do it.

I get that JP wants SotG to make a professional, slickly produced show, but all that is really needed is Skyping up a bunch of people and chat about whatever people want to talk about. Be a venue for the conversation that's already taking place, that's the core of it. In some respects the higher production values could even detract the authentic, casual tone of the conversations.

Is the problem that you want to reserve the name SotG for a show with sponsors and contracts and everything? What if you did something temporary under a different name, reserving for a more produced production later.

i'd be perfectly happy with episodes such as the new years one where the hosts just show up drunk and talk about whatever

ITS ENTERTAINING AND THATS ALL THE MATTERS AAAARGGH

also seconded that thread should be locked until jp makes a new ep cause its disappointing to see this thread get bumped

JP as more to do with SotG success than Day9; even if I like Day, that's just not the point. Respect a little for the man and what he did for the community.

Honestly if any of the guests of SOTG are watching this, just go start a skype convo with whoever is online and willing to talk about hots, and stream it. Would be great and honestly doesn't need this ridiculous overhype factor/commitment which sotg has gained in the last couple of months. Such a shame that there isn't a real venue for this hots discussion much like sotg had become for the wol beta.

SOTG did a lot for all the people involved IMO. I can't keep up with all the stuff this community has going...it was basically my newspaper. Despite everything that's out there, none of that stuff has Day9, Inc, JP, Nony, and Art...killer combo.

All you.

Can't we all interpret the lack of weekly/monthly SotG episodes to the starcraft scene growing immensely? The pillars just don't have the free time to do a show every week like they use to.

I don't think so. They're all just doing other things, which is their choice, but I don't think it is due to any rapid expansion.

Don't really understand why SOTG needs a sponsor. The ads fund JP's living like his other streaming (except this has even more viewers), Incontrol and especially Tyler need this to promote their personal brands (Tyler doesn't do much else in SC2 at the moment), and Artosis is just a cool dude that can spend 2 hours a week talking about SC2 because he enjoys it and has the time.

"Raaaaa! I can't believe this thing that is made by people more talented than me and then delivered to me both live and via VOD for free isn't ready yet! I have a keyboard and a monitor and am therefore entitled to be presented your creative and intellectual property at my beck and call!

I mean, first these people take their free time, what little they have in their collective insanely busy schedules, and make content for me to consume while requiring no user input, personal financial support from the viewer, or even the ability to maintain a real attention span thanks to the on-demand format...then they just stop making it? Screw that.

They say things like "It's hard to coordinate five people in like three different time zones, one of whom is half a dozen hours or so off of PST and has a newborn baby, while personally trying to piece together an entire genre from which people can finally make a career." Yet the baby is over SEVEN months old! How much attention does it need? That baby needs to be an adult and get a job like everyone else or at least start practicing. Is the baby Diamond yet? I think not. Slacker - like father, like daughter I guess.

Artosis, Day, Incontrol, Nony, JP....your collective refusal to do 26 hours of work in a day's span, for FREE and on MY schedule, is killing esports."

It's probably not even a logistical problem at this point, it seems more like JP, and possibly some of the other hosts, just no longer have interest in doing it.

As much of a downer as that notion might be, I have a feeling that this is one of the reasons that SotG is getting stalled up so much.

jeez i wish people would just be patient and wait for JP to bump it with new info for the show. Bloody annoying coming in here everyday because the threads been bumped expecting an update.

Just Chill people, everyone's had a lot on there plate, just sit tight and wait patiently and the show will return.
