Numerous people who could potentially appear on a SotG have been discussing HotS all week on streams, other shows, on Skype, for hours and hours. JP has been streaming, doing real talks, appearing on shows. What else is needed? Not everyone will come on for free but there are more than enough interesting guests who would do it. I get that JP wants SotG to make a professional, slickly produced show, but all that is really needed is Skyping up a bunch of people and chat about whatever people want to talk about. Be a venue for the conversation that's already taking place, that's the core of it. In some respects the higher production values could even detract the authentic, casual tone of the conversations. Is the problem that you want to reserve the name SotG for a show with sponsors and contracts and everything? What if you did something temporary under a different name, reserving for a more produced production later.

User was warned for this post JP as more to do with SotG success than Day9; even if I like Day, that's just not the point. Respect a little for the man and what he did for the community.

The pillars just don't have the free time to do a show every week like they use to. I don't think so. They're all just doing other things, which is their choice, but I don't think it is due to any rapid expansion.

I mean, first these people take their free time, what little they have in their collective insanely busy schedules, and make content for me to consume while requiring no user input, personal financial support from the viewer, or even the ability to maintain a real attention span thanks to the on-demand format...then they just stop making it? Screw that. They say things like "It's hard to coordinate five people in like three different time zones, one of whom is half a dozen hours or so off of PST and has a newborn baby, while personally trying to piece together an entire genre from which people can finally make a career." Yet the baby is over SEVEN months old! How much attention does it need? That baby needs to be an adult and get a job like everyone else or at least start practicing. Is the baby Diamond yet? I think not. Slacker - like father, like daughter I guess. Artosis, Day, Incontrol, Nony, JP....your collective refusal to do 26 hours of work in a day's span, for FREE and on MY schedule, is killing esports."

It's probably not even a logistical problem at this point, it seems more like JP, and possibly some of the other hosts, just no longer have interest in doing it.

As much of a downer as that notion might be, I have a feeling that this is one of the reasons that SotG is getting stalled up so much.
