To be fair, there are reporters who's job it is to find out details on contracts etc. from sources about the big name sports players. We don't have the reporters like ESPN does. It's probably easier to hide figures when people aren't always prying. How often have you watched an ESPN report to hear something like "the exact amount of the contract was not specified, but sources estimate it to be...?" I hear it quite frequently on the television.

In most pro sports organizations (at least in the US), salaries are required to be public so that teams can't take advantage of players by underpaying them, particularly players coming up from college. There's people whose job it is to guess what players will end up getting paid, but once the player actually gets signed, the team just makes a press release that includes their contract and its details. Apparently players talk amongst themselves about salaries, but it seems to be a faux-pas to tell non-pros what they're making, which I don't really like. I appreciate that they want privacy, but I worry that people breaking into the scene that don't have the same connections as current pros might get taken advantage of.

Someone mentioned 20k (Cant find source :/) I believe the 20k number came from DH, but do remember, Day9 hosted DH on his twitch channel and received the ad revenue of that.

Or maybe he's a corporate liason and caster for an entire series of events, and therefore he's getting paid even more because of a deal with a tasty caffeinated drink maker.

Entirely possible, I really don't like that event organizers are trying to create a monopoly on casters, mostly MLG thus far but we'll see if Day9 only does Red Bull events for the rest of time I suppose.
