"prick" or just not caring much about playing the we-are-a-happy-family-game. yes, that can be seen as anti-social given the standards of the majority of people. it is anti-social in the strict sense of him prioritizing his game over everything else. it's not like he doesn't need other human beings to interact with. He seems to get along with the ST team pretty well, and misses no opportunity to thank them for hosting and helping him. He considers SaSe as one of his best friends, and bonded with Khaldor. And not to forget Artosis. To put it blunt, he might be thinking "I'm here to win games, not make friends". In contrast to Stephano's "I want to have fun before I leave" and Sheth's "Let's all be happy". Since he obviously already has contacts that satisfy his social needs and/or are beneficial to his goals, any additional effort can be seen as distraction from the game. Sure it's a higher moral road to sustain a certain level of decency towards everybody. But from early childhood to adult work life, I reckon everybody has these acquaintances that they never really cared about. When I see somebody on the street I remotely know, I sometimes don't even bother to greet them. Should I? Or how happy I was to finally leave high school and its unnecessary drama and closeness of the inner circle to finally meet a bunch of people that were interesting to me in the open world. With things not being black and white, there are always varying levels of interaction one can deem worthy of investing. It is safe to assume that Naniwa is failing to gauge a productive balance. It also doesn't excuse his weak judgment of stepping on other's courtesy. I hope he grows in that department, but I certainly can understand him not wanting to participate in the giant circlejerk that is SC2. Especially given the mentality of "if you are not with us, you are against us" When said somebody comes up to gratulate you on an accomplishment of yours, you absolutely should. Otherwise, do as you please, it's not like anyone is criticizing Naniwa for not running around making friends with everyone.
A story retold by one party does lack the viewpoint of the accused. Plus, not only choice of words, but also their tone make the message, which is also lost.
I don't precisely know why you bolded the one part- but the intention was to outline the existence of varying levels of personal attachment. If I was to be classified as anti-social for not greeting the fellow who I might have met once in a uni class and spoken to two or three times in total, standards are certainly set high.

Hahaha, I think its safe to say that Incontrol, Idra, HuK are all well compensated... I think that the secrecy of most the players and casters pay is actually not the best thing for esports, I think itd help it grow if at least general figures were available to the public (If they are already then I am ignorant to their existence) I think if people saw that you don't need to be Day9 or Artosis to make a comfortable living in esports then more people would be pursuing this as a career. (Yes I know that there are plenty of people making solid livings off of eSports but Ive always been curious how much a mid-tier caster such as Frodan makes, not necessarily specifics just ballpark figures)
Btw Tyler you were missed this week

They make above average college grad salary

I'm guessing that an Average Pro Gamer makes between 1000 - 1500 $ a month + their winnings + All expenses paid to events (Plane, Food, Transport etc...) But that's just a guess

Haha, thanks Tyler for that tidbit. Average college grad salary is above $50k so that makes sense fo the top players like IdrA and HuK.

Six figures yearly, not weekly.

If their rooming costs are covered, that is very good if they can keep their cost of living low(car, health care). They could bank some serious money with winnings and money from streaming.

EG support a player on six figures? Salary is only part of it. Some of these players get thousands of viewers daily when they stream and they run a good number of ads. It all adds up. Plus all the extra money from winnings and other things like that.
