Haha, thanks Tyler for that tidbit. Average college grad salary is above $50k so that makes sense fo the top players like IdrA and HuK.

Fresh out of college avg. salary is more in the range of 20-40k.

if you include the graduates that don't get job offers, yeah

What we're you planning on doing with your degree, out of curiousity?

law school

You're going to law school? That's pretty intense; good for you!

Any idea where you want to go for law school?

no i dont need to now that im making a living without

Ah I see. I missed the "were" you going to do.

that would've cost you a point on your LSAT!

And lord knows we all need as many points as we can get!

God don't remind me. I studied for a year did well on the not real tests, then decided to simply abandon the idea of Law school. Not worth it to me, instead graduate degree is fine for what I want to achieve in my life.

He's making a lighthearted comment on a person he's had a lot of personal interaction with who is his peer in his career field. You are not a peer of either and probably don't have close personal interaction with either, so what you're doing is being a douchebag and making character jabs about people you've never met before and only ever get to see through a very narrow perspective. As to them lightening up and getting laid, Both of these "kids" undoubtedly make 100k+ a year while they're under 25, I'm pretty sure they do get laid quite a lot.

I'm sure you think that it's funny saying a lot of people in the esports world have personality disorders, have no life, are virgins, etc, etc, but it's not. You're on an esports site where a lot of people are productive people following something they're passionate about. If you don't like it, you probably shouldn't be here. If not, stop acting condescending and running your mouth

Source of their 100k+ Salary?

Alex Garfield stated at the eSports ESPN conference that he has players that he pays 6 figure salaries. That would have to mean Idra or Huk (or both)

If they are earning 6 figure salaries, why are they keeping it a secret on the exact amount?

To be frank, it's not really anybodies business. All people would do if they knew would be to complain about "why do you pay this person as much as you pay that person, I think THIS person is better, blah blah blah'

There's no legitimate reason anyone could possibly have to want to know what the players are making. Would just be used to start more drama.

Then why do other sport scenes show their salary? It isn't causing any complaints.

Because normal people don't vocalize their piss poor opinions to sports teams.

How can they make so much money? Because money doesn't grow on trees so is it their marketability, their results or is the EG boss really nice?

All their players are popular, and a lot of people who are fans of the players or teams support their teams or players. When idra/demuslim/incontrol/huk stream they are always in the thousands. They have lots of fans and lots of haters. I imagine their team does quiet well in that department due to that and I don't know how popular their other players are on their other games.

Do you pay attention to sports? How often have you heard complaints about how overpaid they are? It happens all the time dude. They have nothing to gain by releasing that info and unless SC2 truly becomes massive worldwide there will never be a reason to do so.

A+B. They bring in sponsors, viewers, buyers on their store, put EG on the map for a ton of people, win money, and all manner of things. How do the best gain that money back? No clue But EG wouldn't pay them that much if they didn't expect to gain at least most of it back in some way.

eSports ESPN conference? I'm sorry, what? ESPN has never held a conference for eSports.

i don't believe this 6 figure salaray thing. huk and such said that it isn' really much that they earn, if it was indeed over 100k a year, he wouldn't say such a thing.

I think that people think only bad things would come for the players if it was known what they were getting paid.. in reality open knowledge of the numbers would ensure that players would be able to get paid what they deserve by having comparables in terms of other players and salaires. This is how it works in sport and why player salaries are leaked and that no one actually minds.

Yeah, but everyone needs to do it at once. It can't be EG starting out and then everyone choosing when to follow. Personally, I don't want people knowing what I make for a living and would not release that information, even if my clients were demanding it.
