Alright, I'm sorry but I'm going to respond to this, even if it is a troll, because I'm fucking tired of comments like these.
First off, "shits on" other tournaments? What? I was shitting on the matches themselves, not the tournament. You're the one attaching it to and blaming the GSL for the poor matches (for some reason), I'm not. Go back and listen to the episode. I even stated the finals at the Arena were anti-climatic (or agreed with people who said that). Was I shitting on MLG, the company who employs me, by doing this? No.
Secondly, I am an MLG employee (trying) running a show while attempting to not show MLG bias -- not ideal, but hey, I manage. Nick and Dan obviously hype the matches they cast up because that that is their job -- they are paid to make the games exciting and do a very good job. The rest of the cast and a majority of other pro players / community figures both said the same thing: the GSL finals weren't all that exciting.
The reason we spent so much time on the MLG Arena is because I WAS THERE and can formulate a lot of questions / themes / storylines based on my experiences and watching the matches (as well as CatZ). The reason we didn't spend time on Assembly is because:
A) I didn't watch it at all because I WAS AT MLG
B) iNcontroL and Tyler didn't seem to watch that many games (not their fault, not blaming them, they're busy as shit too)
C) before you say GET SOMEONE WHO WAS THERE it is very hard to do so due to scheduling
There isn't enough time in the day for me to be able to watch the entire tournament, talk with people from the event, and formulate some interesting topics to talk about. So, instead of boring people about generic 'finals recap' I decided to focus on the biggest storyline to come out of the event: Stephano getting second in another huge tournament and is he the best foreigner at the moment.
Also, the reason I let "others do all the talking about it" is because I DIDN'T WATCH IT OR WAS NOT THERE. Why or how is that so hard to understand? I could give my thoughts on it but it would be uneducated, super generalized, and overall not worth saying. I'm sorry if you have a sense of Swedish patriotism in regards to the tournament and want us to discuss more about it in the future, but to be honest the MLG Arena was one of the most important events of 2012 thus far (more important than Assembly) because it was a test of something that had never been done.
If you don't believe me, go look at how much drama the PPV announcement stirred up. Keep in mind that I'm not trying to shit on Assembly what so ever -- it was an awesome event, so don't even start that -- but if you don't believe the Arena was more important, as a test, then I question your ability to think critically.
Looking outside this episode specifically, the reason we talk about MLG primarily (and the NA scene) on the show is because its what myself and the rest of the hosts are working with on a day-to-day basis. Due to the time zone difference, it is very hard to have a European on the show. In fact, prior to the show I asked Thorzain and Grubby to come on to talk about Assembly results (as well as MLG, obviously), but both were unable to attend due to last minute request.
"Well then plan better."
Sure, I can definitely do that, but the schedule at the moment of everyone on the show is very erratic. Anyways...
We do our best to cover the entire global scene and I personally will be trying harder in the future. Sorry for this rant, but I got ticked off and felt like I needed to say something, even if it was a troll, because I get this a ton in PMs with much harsher wording.

Pretty funny how JP shits on other tournaments. He talked down the GSL finals, by many considered top 3 finals ever. Furthermore, he didn't even want to adress Assembly, and let the others do all the talking about it. Hoping for more unbiased material in the future..
