does he understand that people will pay for UFC fights because there aren't dozens of other MMA events running simultaneously? He used that as an example to lead into the ~10 % conversion rate of paying customers. He said they had look at others as well. Think what you will of MLG they aren't dumb.

no he said they are selling it online for a limited time, so they can rework the products.

i dont like plans that intentionally plan on throwing away their customer base. -
Can anyone explain two things to me?
1. Are the regular events in addition to the arenas only going to be filled with players winning the arenas? 2. where do the open brackets fit in?

No, the top 8 i believe in the arena (or maybe 16) get seeded into the championship bracket + the next 8 get seeded into the open bracket winners (or something like that). Open bracket is still as it was before.
If anything I like this better than just basing it off of previous performance where we get really crappy players staying in forever.

I feel like saying "we looked at other PPV services, they get 10% of their audience, so we expected the same" is a bit short-sighted. Doesn't the price come into the decision anywhere? How many people said they'd buy it if it was cheaper?
The point is, you can't define what a PPV will get in terms of audience without looking at the pricing and the competition (as someone said above).

Why do the mods turn off the chat in situations like this? The initial wave of spam already kicked in, and with slow mode it was already slowing down. >

I'm not talking about the championship at the end of the arenas.
I'm asking about the other MLG events during the year that arent the arenas.

Currently there aren't any other MLG events that aren't championships, arenas, or online qualifiers. However there are now 4 championships a year instead of just 1. However they are probably going to be changing this up as it goes. The winter "championship" is the next championship event (or any event) after the arena. Spring is unknown.
