Oh, and I don't mind the mandatory bend over special performance. I don't judge. :3

Compare how he acts in a very old daily to how he acts now, it's totally different and feels fake. Still respect the guy though, I just don't think he needs to put on a show because he's already very funny and great to watch. The acting just ruins it imo. QFT + As time went, his acting became more frequent and now it's half of the show. inbe4 fanboys rage, i love day9 as much as everybody, i just miss the old show full strategy&creative talk. I guess the game being figured out doesn't help tho. Great episode anyway, Geoff was a very nice host and Destiny should be there more often!

Well, the show has gone from educational to edutainment as his audience has broadened and is generally less hardcore/skilled at the game.

I disagree I remember the verrrryyyy first Dailies were he would talk about his day before starting the show and it was the most hilarious Day9 stuff ever. Like when he talked about his Chinese classmate that wanted to make a videogame about a ninja that cooks things for Aliens. That shit was priceless. The Dailies have always been somewhat of Edutainment

Yeah, that is getting a little distracting for people like me who don't really care to see Day[9] become a parody of himself. He's a funny guy but I kinda wish the D9D didn't become D9D punctuated by Stand Up with Day[9] every 5 minutes. Its not even the acting crazy part but its more of how it breaks into the analysis too often. It would be better if it was like 15 minutes of analysis and a 10 minute break for goofing around and telling jokes. Otherwise let it come naturally like the old Dailys, I was just watching them and they are quite rewatchable compared to the newer ones where I watch and then never watch again.

But if his show attracts more people this way, maybe that's a good thing too. If funday monday/newbie tuesday get a lot more people into this game too, it can be a nice opportunity. He can't please everyone anyway. I wish he could do a day show like funday monday on a BW pro match like in the old times.

If he once a week made a daily only designed too help master league players getting into grandmasters, gold league players, silver players, bronze players, inactive players would watch it as well. Why??? Because they want to know how high level players think, and they (perpahs mistakenly) think that they can use some of the information on their own gameplay as well. The fact that he doesn't have a daily once a while that actually can help master league players time efficiently kinda makes me think that he doesn't have the knowledge. Having played BW for ages and watched a lot of sc2 games doesn't nesscarily make you understand sc2 at a high level. I believe you have to play the game at a high (or semi high level) to be able to make usefull dailies for master league players. Just watch Artosis's stream and Day9 playing monobattles, Day9 is better mechanically than Artosis, Day9 always beat Artosis in BW I guess keke. Day9 has his own way of seeing the game and actually a lot of things he says shouldn't be tried by players who can't pull it off, it is not that he says wrong stuff(and he kinda does sometimes, I can't say for sure, as I am no Pro myself) it is that he thinks too much about the highest level of metagame that he was used to in BW, and I think that he(like Tyler) wanna see those BW concepts in SC2 so they FORCE them into a much more volatile game and it MAY or IT MAY NOT work. Day9 explaining MMA's style must have ruined a lot of Terran players MMR, because no one can pull that shit off, Day9 expalining SaSe's style last daily(I guess he still does high level players) will ruin a lot of Protoss players MMR because they won't pull it off in the first tries(this one is more viable for the average joe). I think he sometimes is more creating a "SC2 philosophy" than saying what should be done to get to masters no matter what he says, and I'm pretty sure you can get to Masters with his "SC2 philosophy"(much more suited to the pro level imo) but you'll need a lot of really hard practice and discipline to pull it of because it has to do with a true competitive style based in "Doing that X get to Y part of the game in Z position" and not in "How to win more than 50% of my games".

I did not realize it at first but I stopped watching, apparently unconsciously, because of how... "quirky" it is. I'm getting back into it again now, sometimes I have a little too much of Day9 I guess. Love the guy though and he does great work, I didn't really watch his after hours gaming league though. It didn't really pull me in...

There is so much stuff in analyzing how you can play a solid macro tvz without relying on a 2 or 3 base "all-in". This metagame shift should imo have had much more attention, but it has happened so slowly that most people have not realized it. There is a lot of high level stuff to analyze. Its not like you need new build order or whatever to be able to make a new daily.

Tyler almost never says anything, and when he does he has absolutely no emotion. Day[9] actually has emotional conversations that spark debates, and sometimes even soliloquies. And he actually does StarCraft related things for the community on a regular basis, unlike Tyler. Read my post again. I did not say they were on the same level, I'm just saying they are trending in the same direction. Both day9 and Tyler used to contribute more an are now contributing less.

So this sort of constructive criticism gets drowned out :\
