I've found SOTG to become a lot less interesting since they signed onto MLG. Uploads are slow, the MLG website is terrible, they fragment the show into 6 parts, spammed with commercials that used to never exist. They haven't covered IPL at all for most part despite it being such an awesome tournament that introduced a lot of new things to the scene is what I find most disappointing.

However, LO3 was able to pull off some awesome shows atleast two nights (that I saw) for 90 minutes at IPL. It would be a real shame if SOTG is unable to get the time for a show comparable to LO3 @ IPL, and it would be downright stupid to not have the time for atleast a brief one, ala last MLG's 30 minute show which was still underwhelming. Let's not forget that there was alcohol involved in IPL

It'd be far less intrusive for the people that have got to compete/cast the very next day, compared to a SotG on the first night of the tournament. Sounds good but who knows what everyones flight schedule is.

Well that is the difference isnt it? Scoots and Slasher werent "working" when they were at IPL and wheat was part of a rotation of casters. Whereas MLG, Tyler, Inc, Artosis, Jp and Day9 are all working. I think Lo3 is a great show as well but you gotta understand that doing a SOTG in the middle of an MLG isnt a good idea for anyone there. Maybe at the end of an MLG we will have time for player panels and discussions but with the brutal schedule that mlg runs (GL if you are open bracket and get a proper nights sleep) its understandable if they cant do a 2 hour show.

On top of that I can't recall LO3 starting after midnight local time, which SotG would have been if it hadn't been cancelled.

That might be so, but they canceled the tuesday show to have it in the weekend. If they're going to do something like that they better follow-up on it. It's not a one-time experiment, the same happened last MLG and the SotG there was awful.

And I'd assume he isn't the only one preparing.

They used to do that last year (right after MLG DC specifically) so there's no reason why they can't this year. Out of all the MLGs last year they did it once IIRC... and it was a very odd SotG for sure. That's the one where Incontrol made the comment about SelecT that people bitched about forever.
