Well I think it has something to do with MLG, since they've chosen to host it there (for ad revenue, no doubt). Blip uploading seems to be much less hassle, and JTV vods are near-instantaneous.
I'm not saying I disapprove of them making money off their own intellectual property, but I think it's disingenuous to pretend the new method isn't slower.

What you people do not realize is, that JP withholding the MP3 because of sleep is just a elaborate ruse. This actually is the next wave of the SotG crew trolling the EU community.
Think about it, the people in the US can just watch SotG when it is live, europeans have to wait for the VOD or the MP3.

I know this is more or less a joke, but I'm in NA and SOTG is really kinda late for most people here except the west coast. I still wait for the MP3 on wednesday mornings like all of you.

What Choboo said is pretty much similar to how "they troll EU." It's a tiny truth spun around and exaggerated to be provocative. I don't mean anything bad with that, I love the jokes they make with Europe and I hope they continue to do so. For Choboo, I really don't think saying it like that has any real meaning other than to take a tiny stab to show how much he cares while doing it in a bit of a playful manner so it isn't that bad.

You will have to read it for yourself but I need to comment on that. Because I dislike it a lot. I can understand that you want to move the distribution platform to mlg.tv. I really don't care as long as releases stay timely and the player isn't garbage.
What I do mind is that you would actually explain to us any technical details about what is going on. Reason being, the only purpose they serve is to create sympathy (they are written like that) for your side of the situation that has occurred. And I just don't think that's a fair thing to do.
If you "plan" on changing the distribution you can actually plan it in advance before making a change. For this there has been a lot of time now and in the future where you can do them simultaneously. And when it works, that's the moment where you disable the blip.tv and the jtv and you will know how the process will go for the next week. I don't think it's unreasonable at all to expect such a method of operation and that is exactly why I don't like to hear what is happening, because you didn't plan like that, they have become "a problem".
Another note to make is that when you mention a 100GB file in a lossless file, I wonder what benefit that brings. I'm guessing it will allow for 16GB 1080p VODs right? But does anyone care about that? Isn't it much more valuable to limit it to 720p, since it's practically the same, because you get so much more value in terms of efficiency, as can been seen now. The small webcam windows aren't interesting or spectacular enough to warrant such excessive quality. They have been serving emotions and interactions perfectly fine since it's inception.
I was also under the impression that you encode it yourself. It will be like 3-4GB for a 3 hour show and you can have it encode and upload 247 while you sleep. Obviously I don't know if that is feasible and if it isn't you can easily dismiss it but wouldn't it be better if it was feasible? Can it then not be made feasible?
I know this will come over incredibly bitchy to many of you and even though I have been listening and re-listening to JP podcasts since 2008 starting with Arenacast. It is my concern for the future that I feel the need and value to actually write this down. Things like one person having to edit and upload everything makes it limited and creates these kind of queues. Then how will they ever be avoided or sidestepped? It can give the impression it might not.
As a closing, I realize some parts are in reality just unfair and misplaced from me. I hope you can see past them and pick out anything you think is tangible for improvement. Because that has been the only thing I've been trying to aim at with this text.
I'll leave it to a psychologist to analyze why I've gotten in such an emotional state I would post something so seemingly misguided like this.
