Could you imagine if SC didn't have fog of war? The game would get significantly more meta-gamed, which is what chess has become.
Its about prediction because both players have the same information from the board. Its really an entirely different beast than SC2 because of that. SC has unit production and fog of war, chess doesn't. And those are just two differences that make the thought process for creating strategy different.
Anything (disregarding balance, which theoretically will eventually be achieved) where you pit two human minds against each other will form as complex of strategies as the players can handle.
EDIT: To be clear on the issue if SC2 can be deeper. No it can't. My point is that they all can be equally as deep. Any peer v peer competition can do it...

Does not mean it can't be solved, just that it cannot be practically brute force solved.

Sure, it's simple so the depth it has been explored is incredible compared to SC, but that doesn't make it a deeper game.

I hope this move to MLG's site bites them in the ass more than last time it was atempted. I have not seen the new ep since i was asleep (time zone), and i usual listen or watch before heading off to work. I do feel this will get worse more than better. whats next all the pillers having to wear MLG shirts with mlgs sponsors on it, like they were planning on a few months ago and next year on for players?.

true but thats not what solving is. There is a much smaller and finite ammount of moves that one play can do and "solveing" whats best takes a hell of a lot of computer power but it still happened. Beat every chess grand master in the world.
