I am insinuating that he should have known what was coming. The players never take the games seriously, occasionally offrace, and frequently chat during the games. This is exactly what happened.

You can't doubt what he's doing is helpful for esports He really is a great guy and personality. But nonetheless I miss the early dailies when he was talking about stuff I had noooo idea he was talking about at a high D+ level. Talking about how brilliant pro players were and stuff. Even his early sc2 stuff was insightful. And sure, now it's useful, and he's real funny, but it's not the same The same ideas seem to be getting stale. Agreed I would love to see him get more advanced and blow my mind with his ideas He's a masters level player, same league as JP. He doesn't have any mind blowing ideas. I don't know why people put him up to this god status when he was no better than incontrol, tyler, sen, mondragon, ret or Idra at brood war and is far, far worse than all of them at Sc2. You act as if he's hit his skill ceiling, or that he's been able to put in the time like these other guys. He's the most sought out caster for large tournaments in the world, and is a lot better at articulating his thoughts than most people are. He also spends an unparalleled (excluding Artosis) amount of time compared to others at analyzing high level play. Seems like a fairly useless/inane statement considering all these things. So wrong. Any top player spends more time analysing top play than casters.
where did he say anything about top players analyzing casting? and you guys need to shut the fuck up about how good he is. he proved himself in broodwar time and time again, he doesnt have to do it again. he's probably the best representative we have so why not blow him up and exaggerate the shit out of him?

You have to stop seeing them as players, and see them as celebrities to enjoy all-star matches.

They take it to seriously imo, I mean christ only Tyler can play half decent of these guys nowdays yet we watch their games if they play because it's funny. Kind of insulting saying we have to much time on our hands because with that logic any fan of InControl has to much time on their hands because we all know he won't win a tournament anytime soon ...
Not ragin here just giving my five cents.

I'm a huge Day9 fan, but that's dead on.

I can understand how they didn't like the All star games, although I personally had a lot of fun watching them. Especially losira and mc. Probably would have been more fun to those who can read korean so they can understand the friendly banter going on

They have really turned pro-MLG anti-GSL. I don't think they get the point of an all-star match. It's kinda weird seeing Day[9] shit on it even though he does a bunch of non-serious stuff.

Too bad funday Monday is to put restrictions on people to make them think outside the box and get a laugh out of it.
Jinro v Fruitdealer was the only fun game to see because I wanted to see Jinro win on stage.

Pro-bowl, NBA all-star game, etc... A bunch of the best players messing around and having fun, it isn't meant to be some cut throat competition. You are supposed to be enjoying the personalities not the actual game, they totally missed the point.

incontrol always seems so bitter against GSL
From the LR thread a lot of people enjoyed all the matches, and people weren't fucking around all the time. Losira and MC offraced but it wasn't the worst thing in the world and they can actually play at a high level anyway. Jinro vs. Fruitdealer was probably the lowest level match and they were both playing serious.

Artosis is too self-centered. People don't watch those reality shows to see Jaedong fuck around in a 2v2 match. They just want to see what he is like outside of the booth. Not everyone lives in Korea and has lived with progamers before. For a guy who thinks he is so smart he's pretty damn clueless.

This is exactly what happened. yeah true, i think for the koreans, all-star games mean something different because there are a ton of super casual fans who dont know a lot about the game (like the fangirls you see at proleague matches) and its just a way of giving back to the whole community, not just the hardcore fans. in the foreign scene, i dont think there are a lot of casual fans who grew up watching sc (at least not without competitive friends).

I'm not watching the show but I'm here to complain about JP. Can anyone help me out here

Yeah, telling people to attack at random times gives more insight and thinking than two top pros just offracing against each other. I agree that they are both pointless, but one is less pointless.

The only reason LoL is going to Korea is because RIOT quite literally pays for EVERYTHING
For things like MLG they paid the Prize money and all player expenses (including flights, hotels, etc), same goes for ESL (and was one of the reasons why it was added) and virtually every other tournament LoL has been in
WCG is only sending LoL to Korea because RIOT is footing the bill
