If you dont know "what the heck all this stuff is about" maybe you should read the last few pages of the thread before defending SirScoots..
A perfect exampleof what I argued with Tyler, someone here could detect the most simple Irony.
Maybe if you didn't mindlessly defend SirScoots and pinpoint a single sentence that could be interpreted in a negative way without understanding the context of the situation, and actually address the issues at hand I would be able to interpret your terrible communication.
I am sorry. I am sorry for learning your language to comunicate with you, I clearly need to talk like I was talking to toddlers I guess... I was defending Scoots yeah, and is that any problem? People have been bashing him mindlessly and defending other people positions, without adressing anything. Again sorry that I used you as an example, because that part ofyour postwas the only thing that had any meaning for me at the moment.

It's fucking 4 hours a week. It's not detrimental to them in the slightest.
It's even possible for them to practice while on SOTG if they wanted to, just talk through skype and not have the webcam on -_-
I think you greatly misunderstand the amount of effort it takes to be the best at this game(100%). Huk has stated he practices 10 hours or more a day. Thats what it takes to win DreamHack and HomeStory. Personally, I work that much in a day and it knocks me out. With my commute and the small necessity of shopping for food, cleaning and other parts of real life, I have a little free time. I feel safe is saying that the guys over at EG are busier that I am. I can see why they want to keep their life simple and keep their eye on the prize.
But if you feel they can practice against the best players in the world while also being part of a podcast, more power to you. Your wrong, but that never stopped anyone.
Your argument would be valid, if incontrol and idra didn't just replace one weekly two hour podcast with another weekly tho hour podcast. Time gained for playing starcraft: 0 hours.
This is kinda peoples problem ever since Incontrol lef the show.
SOTG is/was hugely more popular than ITG so when Incontrol drops SOTG because he needs more time to practice, yet stick around on ITG, people will obviously be upset about it.
I honestly don't give a damn how many "good" reasons there is for ITG to be prioritized over SOTG because all I know is that as a fan I just lost the only good podcast this community had to offer and that sucks.

Where have they bashed someone mindlessly? I really don't know where you're coming from with this.

Actually I like that I've sparked discussion in the SOTG thread so it stays on top of SC2 General for a while. I also like that people are talking about EG, for better or worse. EG probably likes it too if their tacit approval of IdrA's reputation is any indication. And I don't mind the people who think calling something a joke has more to do with being insulting than with humor. I'm sure when they log off TL and return to their coloring books, they'll forget all about me. Now there's an insult and a joke in one!
eg loves this stuff. They're like a bunch of hollywood stars. They get mad when people give them attention, but always do things to get themselves more attention. They remind me of Britney spears, shaving off her hair.
I really do like a lot of the players on the team, however sir scoots is trying to sabotage them. And scoots, if your reading this, we dont hate you for your decision, in fact it makes sense to most of us. Its the bullshit lies and acting like nothing is happening that pisses us off. Just own up to your shit and treat your team like a business, or else it will look like a joke.
Really sad about EG managment pretty much killing the greatest gaming podcast on the web by pulling out geoff and then being deceptive about it.
I don't understand why they cant just make an official statement as to why they did what they did. Atleast be honest with the community if you already managed to upset them.
A lot of people are complaining that EG killed SOTG, or that it is bad for them to tell their players not to appear on it much but appear on ITG all the time. That is not the issue, djWheat is right in that regard, this kind of stuff happens as things grow.
The thing to be angry about is how EG handled it. They sure as hell don't have to tell us their reasons for leaving the show but if they offer reasons and give us false ones or only part of the picture that is 10x worse than giving no reasons at all, is shady as fuck, and makes your organization look poorly. Scoots and Incontrol told us he left because he had too many other commitments, this was fishy because he left that show and got onto another immediately, but we took their word for it. Breaking our trust is far worse than either saying nothing or being honest about a shitty situation.
EG looks like this shady organization that secretly does everything they can to milk out more money from the scene, and sirscoots at the top with his ironfist wrapped around all his players...

No I don't have a problem with defending scoots. Everyone has an opinion. I don't think people are mindlessly bashing scoots, we are addressing the fact that it seems he isnt being honest in why Inc isn't/won't be a host on SotG anymore. I think most people realize its due to sponsors (ie: business aspect, which you ranted about in another post) but we are being told something else which is pretty shady. Maybe you dont think it is, thats cool with me.

As I mentioned previously, calling something a joke implies it is devoid of any seriousness. Given that SirScoots thinks EG is serious business, he might feel inclined to see it as an insult albeit a mild one.
They can be offended that my reaction to their serious business decisions is amusement but I'm still not insulting them. One could say I had a choice when I made the post to reveal whether or not I'm more inclined to laugh than to take them seriously. And one could argue that choosing to express something that could cause offense is being deliberately insulting. But that'd be a distortion of my act. What's really happening is I have an honest reaction and I report it accurately. There's no disconnection between what actually happened and what I want people to think happened. The notion that there is such a disconnection, or that there ought to be, is one of the very notions EG supports and one that I find particularly amusing.
And that's what started this whole thing. Destiny disapproves of the deception and so do I. No one is compelling them to accurately report everything; privacy can be respected. But the deception? What a joke. After laughing so heartily and so often, it got to the point where withholding my laughter would be deceptive. Ha ha ha. I'm bathing in my transparent amusement of EG's amusing opacity.

I feel honored that you read my post and even took the time to answer, I guess I can return to my books, wich happen not to be coloring books but economy books, because someone has to solve all the realstuff that is out there. Also, you should realice after so many years of posting on forums, the internet is global, not everyone has englishas their first language, and words haveno emotions without looking at the face of the person who talks them, so calling someone an immature even as old and mature as you can be, just checked the Liquipedia to see youare jsut exactly 1 month older than me btw, is not a more mature answer, only because Team Liquid forum is your home, and of course you can do whatever you wish.
By the way, everyone who puts the business part aside, for every time you refresh this thread, TL makes profit from you thanks tothat litle advertisement area that they were so eagerly asking people to remove adblock for.
Ads are far less intrusive and not deceptive at all compared to lying about why a person/team is not allowed on state of the game.
Still business side of things, and the very same side in the end, adverticement and sponsorships money.
How is it the same? Everyone knows ads are a source of revenue. How does TL lie and act deceptively? They are not the same, just because it is related to money does not make it the same. Everything in the world is like what EG did in your terms because it involved money.

i enjoy SOTG but let's get real here. it does not produce a revenue stream.
placing highly in SC2 tournaments provides the high visibility EGs benefactor's require... SOTG provides zero value for the guys who pay the bills at EG.
this whining and moaning about EG to me looks like a bunch of hard core game players with little real life experience not understanding how the working world works.
its really simple... as a team EG produced a series of sub-standard results (according to EGs internal benchmarks) over an extended period of time. which has happened in the past with 50,000,000 pro teams of all stripes. and what happened?
management cracked the whip and said "you guys can keep volunteering doing all this crap and if the bad results continue you'll be replaced".
they were probably not directly ordered to give up any certain volunteer activity. they are probably just afraid of losing their jobs. because no direct order was handed out to Incontrol and/or Idra no official statement would be forthcoming.
that is how i speculate this went down.
either way... if no statement is ever released... they did more for my personal enjoyment than i ever deserved because i paid $0. so i ain't complainin' about nuttin'.
great job guys! .... if the show comes back on i'll listen again. if its never on again you guys can be proud that you made a great show.
