How does huk challenging incontrol to a PVP have anything to do with his height, and why would it make it more threatening if huk was taller.
Seems like a pretty insecure comment from incontrol having to go for a low blow like that. It's pretty douchey of Huk to try to end a discussion about strategy with lets play 1v1 because I know I'm better than you. the point of playing games is to show how it works... not to win games that are irrelevant to the discussion and say "well i bested you in this situation, so i know better in this other situation as well" yes whattyler said ^ thanks tyler even though i said pretty much the same thing, people will just ignore me unfortunately =( as they should don't try and make drama.. we are all friends. you can shut the fuck up now Funny this was the first time I ever felt you went over the line. I know its meant as a joke but honestly making fun of bodily characteristics that people can't change is and always will be small-minded. Most people have some part about themselves they're sensitive about and if you happend to make the wrong comment you're gonna hurt somebody. You really expect Huk to go "Hey Incontrol, I would prefer it if you would not make fun about how tall I am as I'm rather sensitive about that". Yeah right, he'd probably tell you the opposite and/or try to laugh it off instead as most people do. In the end I don't know Huk and he's a good looking guy so maybe he's confident enough to honestly don't give damn. You can know people for 20 years and still have no damn clue about how they feel about things like these. Insensitive really.
The point is you don't know HuK and iNcontrol does, so how is it your place to judge him for how he interacts with other pros from the community. It's already been said before, but all these players have more history than most people give them credit for.
If he starts ragging on a guy just walking down the street, that's kind of a dick move. If he starts ragging on somebody he knows, than how do you know that's not the type of relationship they have?

It's almost as if most of the people that listen to the show don't have male friends.
Haven't you guys busted your friend's chops before? Sheesh.
By the way -- part of being truly confident means having a sense of humour about yourself. Confident people are self-aware, understand their identity and how they're perceived, and are comfortable enough with their own skin to laugh at themselves.
So yes, a Swedish person might find InControl offensive ... if they were a wuss and a dumbass.

iNcontrol you will be missed! always look forward to hearing your thoughts and insight every thursday night and it won't be the same without you, for sure. Best of luck focusing on practicing and improving! Looking forward to MLG!

About Incontrol's replacement, just don't get another pillar and have two guests every week, IMHO.
|
I'd love to see a regular terran player as a guest. I love SOTG, but I've always felt the terran voice was somewhat lacking. Having Idra, Tyler, and a Terran (I'd suggest Demuslim, if his timeframe allows it, because I'm a big UK fanboi) + day9 as the neutral thoughthammer might work. Don't know if that oversteps on ITG though.
Will miss Incontrol though. He was usually hilarious, if hit and miss sometimes.

We will all miss InControL. He definitely had his, shall I say, "polarizing" moments, but he is a good guy and a smart contributor to the show. His perspective and humor will definitely be missed. <3
....Day9's coming back from Korea soon and is not in school anymore....!!!

I've known alot of people that are really insecure that "bust their friend's chops" constantly cause they don't feel comfortable just being themselves, the same people can also joke about themselves. I know confident guys who have no idea how they are percieved and that can be very defensive/agressive about jokes aimed at them. Your generalizations aren't valid nor are they based on anything but opinion.

I agree with all those who are defending HuK and the slightly unattractive group that is Swedish male nerds against the horrible and devastating assault of InControl... Seriously, its disgusting! I bet HuK totally didn't even know that when he agreed to come on the show that there was potential for him to have a little fun poked at him. Outrageous.

since the show starts at like 4/5am here in europe i'd say it's quite unlikely that they get an european player as a new regular guest

Oh! I see what you did there, my prejudice that no Australians are boring as shit remains in place then.

Sad that Inc is out, but just as sad to hear SotG's taking a break. Best podcast out there bar none for me personally.
Come back strong guys! This show is truly appreciated every week.
|
Wow very sad to hear that they will take a break. I guess InControl has his reasons to leave but that just sucks especially that he is now on inside the game which is just a copy of State of the game (more MONEY for him???). I hope you guys continue and come back even bigger then before!
|
I like SOTG,
We as SC2 fans are SO lucky that we have the depth of podcast and stream content that we do <3
|
bb Incontrol, sad to hear that you value the other content that u produce higher than SOTG ( SOTG >> NASL; ITG from my point of view) but that apparently your decision. I probably won't care about the G4 discussion but i hope you make the next show the best SOTG there ever was.
The most notable change with Inc's departure will be that now people will actually respond to JP's trolling.

Dwarfism is no laughing matter.

Man, people are so over-sensitive. They are joking around, it's fine. If you take offense to this, don't watch and develop a sense of humour. Even if you don't find it funny, accept that it was in a facetious gesture and stop making a big deal about it.
I am short, and get teased by my friends about it. I even poke fun at myself for my height all the time. It's not a big deal. People need to stop taking everything so seriously... Especially in an environment of friends (ie SOTG), in which they are talking about a VIDEO GAME.
|
Lol, first time reading this thread and it's actually stupid. You are arguing over something that seriously doesn't matter. iNcontrol jokes around and he obviously doesn't think HuK is a bad person because he is short.
Sad that he is going though, not gonna be the same and I also agree you need a regular Terran guest/host. Maybe fill the spot with Kenniget (however the fuck you spell his name) or something.
Also, not hating, but that ain't no muscle on those rosy little cheeks bro
one thing you should realize is that Incontrol is not "fat". He's just buff, as in practically lives at the gym outside of SC. There's a huge difference. Also, learn to take a joke.
|
i dont get it why they stop doing sotg for a while. replace and keep rollin :o) pleeeaaaase???
|
I kind of want Incontrol to do something actually offensive for the last Incontrol episode. Finally all 1140 pages of this thread would actually be vindicated.
But I will be fine if he doesn't, his career is probably more important than my sense of irony.
Also, this:

Just accept that people are different. Some people will get offended by getting teased about whatever, some wont. But telling everyone who ever gets teased about something to develop a sence of humour is really ignorant.
Its interesting though that people find it ok to tease someone about their height and other things that they cant change, but teasing someone about how fat they are etc is usually considered a low blow even though that is something you are responsible for.
