well after buff after buff, Zergplayers finally use their options instead of Roach/Hydra/Corruptor. it bound to happen that the matchup gets harder for Protoss if their opponent doesn't play 1 dimensional and predicable.
What funny is that i.e. the Infestorbuff didn't change much at all but now everyone is using them, while some month ago almost nobody did use them because they did "suck".
While sure Infestor do more DPS, the total damage is almost the same, and the lockdown effect got worse. I am 100% sure if they did reverted the Patches to before those changes happend, Zerg players would still do fine now (atleast for ZvP, ZvT is a different story because of medivacs)
Spanishwa, new Aggressionstimings, and Armystyles, all that make Protoss now headaches.
And i recall Idra saying Zerg was explored and there was nothing more to find (some SotG episodes back) Which just shows how the race whines to get new stuff...
Blizzard should just haven't change anything at all, and players would have found a way around it. But tweaking things that weren't broken in reality, induce new problems.
Question is shouldn't players figure out solutions before Blizzard as a last last last resort tweaks the game stats?
By going for the recent patch policy, Protoss needs buffs because they have a "hard" time dealing with now...
vicious circle if Blizzard doesn't stop do changed because of balance whining.

Zergs are just huge whiners in general. I've never encountered a zerg on the ladder who gave me a simple gg after beating him, there is ALWAYS an excuse when I beat a zerg.
When a zerg beats me they're just way more skilled, obviously. This game is not perfect, but it's not what what zergs make it out to be. If idra wasn't crying about balance week in and week out, zergs wouldn't be as bad about the qq.

Dear iNcontrol,
Sorry to hear that you are putting an end to your contribution for SotG. But with the amount of projects you are working on I was getting the feeling that you are sectretly twins :p
Hope this will contribute to your MLG win

Sotg is so much better than ITG tho....imo ITG seems too "corporate" for me

I don't wanna tinfoil hat too hard, but scoots is both the producer of itg and incontrol's manager. In any case, it's sad. . That's all based on speculation, Reddit's kind of the place where little things get blown way out of proportion. Thinking of any reason why incontrol would want to leave is speculation -______-

To JP: Don't you think it's more polite to introduce the guests, and talk to the guests before you do the same for your regulars? Just sayin'... seems kinda rude to have them just sit there in near silence for the first 10 minutes before you come around to them

I don't get why people are hating on ITG so much, SOTG and ITG are two different shows with two very different purposes and directives, its absolutely ridiculous to speculate that the ITG crew is trying to "kill" SOTG. So don't go blindly bandwagoning against ITG because SOTG is on hiatus.
Regardless I'm looking forward to next weeks episodes and am hoping that the break isn't too long, will have nothing to fall asleep too on tuesdays

You do know that it HAS to be based on something? it doesn't just automatically make 100% of one single race complain about imbalance unless there is at least something wrong with it.

Geoff we all know you're better off behind a microphone then a game of SC2, who are you kidding!

They weren't talking about zerg dominance per se...they were talking about the long anticipated meta game shift that halts the protoss domination PvZ. They're saying that zerg is NOT underpowered and now that zergs are finally shifting away from roach hydra ling we are starting to see that. Admittedly HuK said infestors were OP but no one agreed with him.
These are professional players giving their perspective. It's a shame they could only get protoss players on this week but the fact that they were unanimous was very telling in itself; this is something all protoss pros are starting to feel. No one called the race overpowered but they were in clear agreement on one thing; PvZ is getting harder, and zerg is not underpowered.
No doubt a lot of zerg whiners will be enraged that IdrA wasn't there to complain about early scouting and coin flipping and colossus, but what's the point? We know what his opinion is.

I know right, it would have been much better if he stopped ITG and continued SOTG.....

No it doesn't. You have one of the most popular players in the west constantly complaining about balance, so now every zerg who loses no matter what the circumstance feels they can blame it on balance.
Zerg is incredibly strong although vulnerable to early game all-ins, but even then, they're learning to deal with them. Just because a player like idra cries balance doesn't mean zergs can use that as an excuse every single game. I'm getting so sick of hearing it every single pvz I win. I have never won a pvz due to skill according to the zergs I've played.

ITG is full of sponsor banners and EG talk. In that way seems more of a show for the sponsors when sotg is a show for the players and community. I just dont like how its kinda trying to highjack the show JP started by sending similiar show earlier on the same day and with two of the "regulars" on sotg. Its not like incontrol and idra has much of a choice when they gotta promote their sponsors
Maby im completely in the wrong here, but sotg was perfect entertainment every week and im sad that could change.

Inside the Game must be paying Geoff pretty well. I can't imagine any other reason for someone to choose ITG over SOTG. Just seems silly to me.
As for the episode: Huk is always awesome, but I was surprised how Naniwa handled himself. In a good way, actually.

i like inc because he always says what must be said, regardless of its taboo status. he counters the mass delusion that rises up around certain subjects every few weeks. it's a testament to how good SOTG is that i'll still watch every episode, but... ah well.
|
I would like to point out that Inc said we'd have to trust that he was leaving for 'legitimate reasons', so we probably, erm, should trust him on that.
|
Wait wait... Whaaaaaaaaaaat? I'm still downloading the episode to listen later and Incontrol is leaving SOTG?
/sadpandaface
Easily my favorite part of this show is leaving . I'll probably still tune in, but the sun has set on a great part of this broadcast... Let's hope his spirit stays with the show.

Well, I figure I'll throw in my 2 cents.
I've always been a spectator fan of SC2 only. I play custom maps only. SotG has been something I've looked forward to since discovering it around episode 11 or 12. I can't even describe how priceless these 2 hours of entertainment are to me.
InControl has brought so much humor to the show... as well as provoking interesting discussions. Without him, there won't be nearly as much personality on the show....
Now... I'm guessing that since Idra had to be cleared for next episode, EG is pulling the strings behind InControl's departure. Idra is probably cleared to go on because InControl is doing his last show. After that, they probably have to do EG's show only.
I've watched ITG.... and... there's just no entertainment value. It's for budding SC2 players only it seems. I like DJwheat as a caster, but he doesn't put as entertaining of a show together as JP.
The only thing that would keep me watching SotG every week is if Day9 was ALWAYS on. Otherwise I suspect the shows viewership to dissolve. Either way... really looking forward to next week's (bittersweet) episode.
