And seriously, people blow it way out of proportion. In the vast majority of the games idra says nothing disrespectful. Idra GGs. But every once in a while he speaks his mind and omg he was disrespectful! How dare he just not be quiet and GG. It's such a big deal! do you know if he was talking about your character as a person, or about your sc2 abilities? (with idra i'd expect the latter). I mean if he was talking about you personally then I concede, that is personal. But I have to doubt it.. and I mean, I am sure he's made personal comments about others, most everyone has. but we are talking about in tournaments and on streams and shit. Honestly there if you'd see me going around at poker tournament calling other players shitty players or huge donkeys out loud, guess what would happen? But hey it's not personal attacks, I'm just commenting on their poker skills.... I mean seriously there, gotta show some respect

I think too many people blow it WAY out of proportion. I find it hilarious. Why can't people just find it funny or amusing when there is nothing personal about it? You are all too serious. People trash talk all the time in various sports and competition. Lots of people love it. Lots of people love idra. It's probably actually good for e-sports but some people just love to make a big deal about stuff. I specifically addressed this point before. It doesn't matter if other sports do it. Sure, if TO is a complete asshole in the NFL, it's fine. Some people like it. It's fine because the sport already has an established, respected scene. People see that and say, "Oh, I know most football players are well behaved and respectful, TO's just an exception." E-sports is completely different. There is no respected scene in mainstream western society. In fact, video games are seen as detrimental, a waste of time, and childish by most, even though we all know it's not true. That's why the best American player in the world acting like a child only further supports this stereotype and doesn't help us at all. Oh, and it doesn't matter if it's only once in a while. When it's that bad, it'll get around pretty easily and people will only pay attention to that.

But questioning "noob" plays happens all the time in poker. What are you trying to get at? Have you never even heard of phil helmuth?

Yeah, thing is hellmuth isn't really good, I'm guessing he does it for exposure, also everybody hates him, literally everybody despises the way he acts, which is extremely similar to idra's

I mean seriously there, gotta show some respect that's because they're oversensitive losers, lol and tons of poker players do regularly make fun of other poker players, in fact i think that's even more common than in the sc world. maybe you play good enough on whatever site that no one makes fun of you lol, but when i played like shit and would donk out on someone they wouldn't hesitate to make fun of me (and often make it personal actually) clearly in person is different than live... i don't think you're gonna see idra talking too much shit in person, largely for the reasons you say.

P.S. Phil Helmuth currently holds the most WSOP bracelets. He's not really good though.

He's still statistically one of the best poker players and is actually well respected in the community.

idra is prob more respected in the sc community than hellmuth is lol, both are despised by a fairly large portion though which could change only if their attitude was better over losing games

I've never seen a game in sc2 or sc1 where idra went all in at all. wow. do YOU even know what cheese is? seriously all you sc2 noobs dont know what the difference between cheese and all-in is and its making me rage hardcore, especially when playing games all-in is when a player does an all in'ish attack that the player has no plans for a follow-up. if the attack fails then he fails cheese is when a player does a strategy that relies on almost entirely on secrecy, if scouted then the strategy becomes immensely easier to counter and win PLEASE LEARN THE FKIN DIFFERENCE IF YOUR GOING TO USE THOSE TERMS FOR EXAPMLE, A V RAY RUSH IS NOT CHEESY OR ALL-IN. THERE ARE PLENTY OF TRANSITIONS OUT OF A VOIDRAY RUSH. -_-

That was the end of his plan and he had no clue what to do next. So he made more and more and more ultras and crammed them into chokes, slamming his ball into drewbie's ball over and over again. Meanwhile, there were about 5 points in the game when (e.g.) a quick switch to hitting T instead of U would have won him the game. Once drewbie has only marauders and thors, exclusively ultras is also a Bad Decision. Hydras were far and away the best choice then. That was IdrA play at its worse. The guy burns out or something.

(minus any abnormally large wins) But, I don't think it's right to just talk about Phil here. There are a lot of players who just tilt and make comments about plays. Yeh, it's bad mannered but it happens. And let's not talk about what these players do away from the table (which is actually more relevant to this thread and not specifically about the in game BM)
