Update:
DeMusliM joins mTw
Statement Christopher 'Tak3r' Heil
"I'm very happy that Ben finally joins up with our roster after extensive talks about our future cooperation. He was my first priority of all the players out there since he is not only obviously very skilled but also a very friendly human being. The fact that he decided to move to Germany in order to play in the EPS made it even more exciting for me to get him in. I'm looking forward to a bright future with Ben and I plan to get one more top player into mTw.SC2 to get ready for the huge competition that lies ahead of us once SC2 established itself as THE next big thing in eSports."
Statement Benjamin 'DeMusliM' Baker
"Hey, I'm more than glad to be announcing that I’ll be joining the ranks of mTw. This team has a long, solid and successful history in eSports and i'm delighted to be a part of its future. Tak3r and the team have been more than welcoming already within the past few weeks and made this move an enjoyable one. I plan on not only bolstering the teams lineup, but also helping the players advance individually. This move also enables me to move to Germany and support myself - and thus take part in the EPS, which will more than likely happen over the next few months."

According to fragster.de, DeMusliM is going to relocate to Cologne, Germany, in order to join a team and participate in the upcoming ESL Pro Series for Starcraft II.
"Well, what to say? After an enjoyable stay with MYM, it's finally time to move on. I'd like to thank MYM for supporting me and also for the stay I had under their flag, along with great people such as ReminD, LucifroN and the SC2 boys. A new opportunity arose in recent talks, which I'm sure will be announced within these coming days. I wish the best of luck to the MYM guys." - DeMusliM

he's not going to be a caster.....
he joins mtw and plays in the german EPS. wanna bet? :D
TOLD YA! lol looks like it wasnt SK
|
Nope, I don't want to bet because that's what he is there for.

Best of luck to DeMusliM! TLO vs. DeMusliM ?

Woah, unexpected o.O GL DeMusliM!

holy moly good luck! so i guess demu doesn't attend any school (uni) then, or taking a break (like ret did when moved to korea)? let's see how it works out, gonna be interesting though edit: i'm not familiar with esl pro series format, but how does changing teams help him?
|
I also think that he will join sk gaming (when they will make their squad)
|
SK is primarily a swede team. The only German powerhouse team I can think of is mouz gaming. So it could be that he is going to be under mouz, but that is just my speculation

If a player wants to play in the German EPS then he needs to live in germany. I believe that MYM couldn't afford to pay him the stay/move there so another teamtook the chance to sign him.

SK's head office is in Cologne.
Another cologne-based team is n!faculty, but that's rather unlikely...

Their CS team is Swedish, apart from that they have no other Swedes (apart from the DotA team they had). They actually have way more Germans and Americans than anything else. Their offices are in Germany, as others have said.
Anyway, good luck Ben. I'm sure he won't unblock me on MSN even though I just wished him good luck, what a bm noob %)

no, he said is name is nothing to do with his ethnicity, he said it an interview what he's named after but i can't remember right now, he also said he will change his id at some point as it's had restrictions on playing tournaments.

@pads religion is only one part of ethnicity
@tlo hope for you 2 guys you dont drink kölsch than ^^

BTW: "DeMuslim goes to germany" sounds like a good title for a show :D

Eh, why leave such a good team? I would have stayed with MYM at least until a few months after game release.

EPS is going to be awesome. So much money to make there. Good luck to DeMusliM.

Eh, I am pretty sure that he won't join SK or n!faculty or mouz...

I think EPS will not be that big in money terms compared to other SC2 tournaments. It's more a prestige thing, probably most prestigious German event with offline finals. (That is unless the SC2 EPS has way higher prizes than the other EPS games)
@Celial, whats your guess then?^^
|
Alternate just dropped Xlord and co. so I wouldn't be too surprised if that was to free up some funds for Ben.
n!faculty probably doesn't have the money. And SK is a possibility.
I'm glad you left MYM Ben : ) Good luck with whatever team you join!
|
|
I'll go with Alternate also.
|
If it isn't SK, they fail horrible at being a "pro-clan", they did nothing in regards to SC2 so far and if they don't start now they will have a very hard time getting a decent Lineup.
|
|
It don't think it'll be Alternate. He already was there some years ago and I don't think he'll come back to that organization.
|
Man, I wish I was friends with TLO. Interesting move, best of luck in Germany DeMusliM.

actually, its not that bad. every week one game where you can win 50 euro (wc3) and at the end the finals with 3000 for the first. im sure for sc2 the price money will be higher.
so of cause its a lot of prestige but also a good way of having money coming in without lots of work. there is enough time for you to play other tournaments.

|
Most likely SK or Mousesports, maybe mTw? SK has moved a player to Germany in the past for EPS, at that time it was Zacard from Korea. His EPS plans never truly panned out tho because he came back to Korea for WEG. I think mTw had plans to do something similar with DIDI8 around the same time (also wc3). Watch it be some team that comes out of nowhere, would be the most interesting IMO. Shows new and upcoming teams for SC2 and more and more people getting interested in SC2, eSports, etc.

It's most likely either mTw or mouz, my bet is on mTw because mouz already have a stacked line-up as it is.
On the subject of MYM, have they given up on SC2 or are just waiting for the right opportunity to build their new squad?
|
MYM put a person in charge of their SC2 team who has no clue about the starcraft scene. If they realize that and put just either Artosis and/or Raven in charge of the Team Management they would have a so much better prospect to become one of the top foreigner teams.
|
MYM won't have given up on SC2. They ditched WC3 specifically for SC2. That would be foolish as there's so much money for big organisations to make out of it.
|
@GTR: MYM still have GARIMTO, Artosis and Raven

If Garimto keeps playing seriously he will be gone with the first offer of a korean team and if he doesn't, MYM will not benefit from him.
Even before Demuslim left, they didn't play a single match in the SC2CL Groupstage, so far we have seen nothing at all from MYM which is a bit disappointing as they used to be one of the powerhouses in Europe.

Yeh, but come on, it's still very early days for teams yet. You can hardly call not playing in a beta clan league a disappointment.
|
well if they didn't sign up, it would have been okay but signing up and then not showing up is not professional, beta or not.

Actually, yeh, you're right, that's not professional. But, I'm sure MYM will be a top team when they start taking SC2 seriously
Wasn't that clan league more like an experiment anyway?

If he signs up with a team who has a G7 contract he isn't allowed to drink alcohol I think:
taken from the G7 standard contract:
3.1PLAYER accepts that he is a role model and therefore he shall not consume alcohol in public, or use drugs either in private or in public or engage in other activities which constitute a violation of criminal laws in the countries where PLAYER is domiciled or is acting on behalf of the CLUB.
3.2Nor shall PLAYER engage in activities that will jeopardize or are likely to jeopardize his image as a role model.

|
Well I have no clue if that rule is really enforced that strictly but I find it really strange to have such a rule at all. I mean I can see they don't want their players to be drunk, but completely banning it is over the top. I might not have the most up to date contract here, but they don't have a passage about gambling on outcome of games, which would be way more important than that.

We can have alcohol without fun! Uhh I mean fun without alcohol. Well, I would not beat him to drink alcohol that'd be stupid. And TLpeople don't need any substances to have a good evening together afink.
edit: but yea, it's a kinda strict but I understand the people that set up the rules.. :p

Yeah, this rules are true. I found this kinda strict either. Talking about MYM, they could have done way better than they did it now, but np, I think they won't make big mistakes again and will stand up and fight for the top spot at sc2.

How is the correct awnser not the awnser you are looking for? I know you emphasise on THE GERMAN LEAGUE as if there was something strange that foreginers move to other countries to perform in their leagues. Check out any sport and you'll find that it's perfectly allowed to do so aslong as you have a work permit, but because both countries are the EU no work permit is needed.
German league is not the same thing as a league for german people only.

How is this any different from foreigners going to Korea and trying to make it into OSL/MSL or become professional players? I think you believe the EPS is a German-only league when in fact the EPS just happens to be a league held in Germany, much like the OSL/MSL are leagues that are held in South Korea.
The NBA doesn't prevent players from outside of the USA from becoming professional players, Euro Leagues don't prevent non-European players from becoming professionals. ETCETERA.
There's nothing wrong with whats happening here as long as the legality of it is fine, work-permit/visa/etc. (if that's even necessary for progaming in Germany)

Although I assume this "team" has some contacts.. Under EU employment rules we are allowed to live and work where we please in another EU country. Thats not the answere I looked for I refered to EPS, its a german league, how can some1 not german just randomly move to the country and play in the GERMAN LEAGUE. You dont understand you cant stop a UK citizen from moving to Germany, you cannot descriminate on nationality BY LAW between EU nations. Effectively we are all europeans now more or less just some of us stink more of beer and garlic. This law was the one used in the Bosman case I am sure you are aware of that if you follow football at all.
Its funny how you say I discriminate? You should be banned for this, following the rules.
I know its EU, I didnt say anything about why he could move to germany or anything like this.
I mean, why can he play in the german league, its wierd. Look at a german pro, he is looking forward to play in the german only league because there he can play against his nationality aswell as be top in german scene. Then suddenly people start moving to the country and starts playign in it. Its not fair.

How is it not fair? It's just how the rules are, it's not a germany-only league. If it's unfair for the german "pro", how is it fair for countries who don't have big leagues?

It's the most fair system there could possibly be, if the german pro is good enough he'll be able to play, if he isn't he won't it doesn't get fairer than that.

Thorgrim, I see what you're saying but the sc2 uk community is much lower than in Germany. DeMusliM has a much greater chance at becoming successful in Germany so I don't see the problem.
Also, I doubt German players care too much about who they play against in EPS as long as they have a shot at gaining fame, money and having fun.

Show me one professional sports league that doesn't have other nationalities playing in them. It isn't even slightly weird or unfair... How you have come to that conclusion is beyond me.

Again, numerous non-German WC3 players have played in the EPS (Zacard was Korean) when they moved there for an extended period of time. It doesn't matter if the players are German or not, as long as they're living in Germany they are allowed to compete.
