Both are pretty fucking easy things to add, yet they are left out. Could they be related with something bigger?

The only good thing blizzard did about the F keys was making the F1 key to find ideal workers.

There is no excuse to not have these in the game, even if it involves a menu option to "toggle hero hotkeys // hardcore mode" anyone who thinks that you can play competitive Starcraft without this feature is so so wrong.
You can't transfer workers efficiently, let alone move any units or rally points to a location, unless you have them grouped (I'm not grouping my SCVs for a transfer!) AND you have a unit at the location so you can tap a million hotkeys to achieve what should only require one button.
RAGE!!!
Are the folks at Blizzard noobs, or do they just like screwing with us?

yeah. god damn! bring it back! my macro is all screwed up because of it xD

Yeah, instead of that stupid menu that fucks you up.
Note that ideal workers are subject to Boyle's Ideal Worker Law: The amount of stress your SCV is under is proportional to the mass of the hillbilly times the temperature inside his suit divided by the crowding of your base.

I would LOVE to see the feature in SC2 where you can bind screens such as the way it does in SC1, and that is coming from a War3 player. I used all the hotkeys in War3 and having access to more would be fantastic. for those who don't know f1, f2, and f3 were for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd heroes respectively. But I coulda sworn that f1 was idle worker as it is in sc2, and f2-f4 were the hero keys.

So is there any update on whether or not these are coming back? I seriously need them. I don't know about most of you but they add a good 50 apm for me.
I don't think this thread is getting enough attention.

Just put ur selected probes in one controlgroup, then double-click on ur grouped nexus, select team and click on a mineral patch
When i started sc recently, i had noone to teach me that things and i already used this technique back then instead of F-Keys and it is only slightly slower anyway

It sucks for zerg that the F-keys doesnt work, i cant rally my troops to anywhere but close to one of my hatches without it being ridiculous, do i have to hotkey a unit where my units are supposed to rally? Argh its so dumb.

Selecting idle workers is [ or ] or something similar. Possiblly < or >. Regardless, the key was too far away from the left hand side of the keyboard that noone ever used it. For that reason I can see why Blizzard moved it.
I'd like to think they'd revist this binding as the F keys were used a heap in SC and had a similar effect in War3.

F Keys are essential i think it would be stupid to leave them out just to have them select the heros in singlepayer wich no one gives a fuck quite honestly
|
i never knew about these F keys lol i just double tapped all my hotkeys and now with the F1 for idle workers i think its fine not that i use it much but w/e never used them in the first place so i guess it don't affect me much

anyway, if you used them I think your game would not suffer because of it. thanks for your comment and helping us get them back!

transfering workers in sc2 pisses me off
|
I think F keys are meant to be used by custom made games (for heroes)
|
Prrreazoee blizzard. I catch myself pressing the F-buttons in hectic situations, and then i'm usualy like "wtf why...oh right". Especially since double tapping is no use once you have more than one nexus (for instance).

Signed, this should be in the game.

F keys seem to change players or some other shit in replays as well.

-_- he means he has no way to go to his rally point unless he puts something there and hotkeys that
