Maybe there's some bluffing by multiple participants to bring transfer fees up and down, but the whole transfer window around Real has been a barrage of conflicting information. First someone is leaving and then staying, Real is done for this window until they suddenly activate again. Perez has some big signing to announce after the election and then nothing materializes.

As far as I can tell, they also have a full roster currently. Seems pretty likely that someone needs to go if they sign new players. Vini could go, but he's going to be expensive and demands big salary on top of that. Asencio doesn't seem to be in Mou's plans, but could be pretty tough to trade with bad performances and some sketchy stuff in personal history if my memory serves me right.

I am astonished that Real seems to be doing nothing to get Rodri when he keeps hinting that he wants to go there...

They just renewed Tchouaméni and Perez doesn't like singing older players, so I somewhat get the reluctance. Still, the current Real roster with a world class midfield controller sounds scary. I think there are still some questions on how Rodri has recovered from the ACL injury, but the world cup seemed to indicate he's back on decent form for now at least.

if you follow uniteds transfer rumours it actually seems like tchouameni was given an extension because perez thought rodri wouldnt be available.

now they want him but tchouameni just got more expensive and they cant count on united to pay for him

Afraid of someone as corrupt as Infantino: Also Yes.

Yeah Infantino simply has the votes already. He's unbeatable.
So if you take your shot you have to get him banned from running, and if that fails (which it 99% of the time would) there will be consequences for you because Infantino is a cunt.

Which is why the only real option UEFA has if they want to do something is to withdraw from FIFA.

Let him try to rig a 48 country WC with half the top 50 boycotting.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

but UEFA and the European leagues want/need the money from the rest of the world don't they?

If it's the other way around, UEFA and bigger EU clubs would be losing quite a sum of money. I don't think anyone is ready for that.

Would it hurt? sure. but they should survive.

But the alternative is doing nothing and accepting that Infantino can just rig the competition by removing suspensions whenever he feels like it.

Uefa and EU clubs don't want to survive though... They want to get richer too just like Fifa

Clubs don't really have much to do with FIFA anyway. The FIFA club world cup is a joke and if UEFA pulled out of it, it'd be utterly irrelevant, especially if UEFA set up their own mega-super-invitational to which they just invite the Libertadores finalists, and they play against the CL finalists in a 3-match little event (reminiscent of how this was before FIFA took it over and turned it into a "big" tournament).

FIFA is relevant because of exactly two things:
- Rules. In order to ensure football is monolithic, it needs a single set of rules. If you don't have a central organization, you get drift, which leads to nonsense like Rugby League and Rugby Union (or, more extreme Cricket (d)evolving into Baseball and Softball): essentially the same game, just with less (in the case of rugby) vs more (bat-and-ball games) rule drift from the different players focusing on different aspects and rules.
- World cup. By far the biggest tournament in the world in any sport. It rivals (or beats, depending on what source you use) the Olympics, which is basically all sports combined. It's a ridiculously lucrative event.

The former is more problematic than the latter, imho. If the UEFA splits off and sets up their own World Association of Football (WAF) and invites others to join, and none do, eventually WAF and FIFA will run different parallel games, with different rules (WWE and AEW style), players won't easily transfer between systems and it loses the attraction of being a world sport.

The latter is a more immediate issue: nobody wants to miss out on the sweet sweet revenue from the biggest sporting event on earth. And sure, the English FA is probably pissed off about Infantino's bullshit, but pissed off enough to tell all English fans that they aren't competing, and there's no chance of it "coming home" ever again? And yes, EU clubs pulling out will ruin it for the rest of the world too. It's like the olympic basketball tournament when NBA players were banned, and it was "amateurs only". I understand the spirit, but nobody was invested in that (just like nobody is really invested in olympic football). A world cup without European teams will lose viewership, and thus the revenue stream dries up: it's a lose-lose for everybody. So FIFA just doesn't believe UEFA will split off (and are almost certainly right: UEFA is not only England and Germany, but also Bulgaria and North Macedonia, countries whose federations receive a large chunk of their annual budget from FIFA programs), and acts like it.

What's going on with Newcastle is crazy.
They are one of the top 5 richest clubs in the world and they can't keep any players or a manager?
Make it make sense.
