i've been to argentina like 8 times, i've never had a bad interaction with argentines in my life. definitely not like all argentines are like that at all. obviously in sports some football players can act like bullies but it's not all of them and it's not like only argentines do that. you're taking one event where they were clearly very emotionally involved and some of them didn't show their best version and then you are acting like argentine people is morally inferior or something. with a quick google anyone can find instances where people from any country are acting like thugs or showing gamesmanship so just say whatever you want against the argentine team in this wc but don't extend it to the people. | ||

Have you not seen World Cup 2014? Or World Cup 2006? Or World Cup 2022 (they won but it was disrespectful as well). No one thinks all argentines are like that but its not like its only one event. | ||

And apparently Laporte was asked by Marca whether he's worried about the aggressive play of Argentina, to which he replied that it's all part of football, but if it's excessive it's the ref's job to shut it down. And he's seen strange things in their game that the refs just ignored when they should've stopped it. And then things can escalate. Spain has played a noble game with very few fouls, and that's how they should keep playing in the finals but it depends on the refereeing. Nothing particularly shocking and really just Otamendi being a sore loser grasping at straws, which is probably why Rodri looks absolutely dumbfounded. He ran onto the pitch to celebrate, got punched by Molina and acosted by Otamendi. | ||

It happens but it's rare. Usually there's at least one good shot on target. That wasn't Argentina's strategy before the red card no. Argentina started with a relatively offensive team on the pitch. Usually when teams are weaker and outplayed they'll play more defensively and bet on a counter to score a goal. A red card changes the game significantly. They were already outplayed with 11 so with 10 all you can do is survive until penalty's and hope for a lucky goal before that. | ||
