Tottenham had an extremely dubious run of decisions against Brighton last year

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12144961/Brentford-Fulham-Liverpool-benefitted-VAR-calls-club-season.html REVEALED: Brentford, Fulham and Liverpool benefitted more from VAR calls than any other clubs this season, while Brighton and Man City lost out... so where does YOUR club place on 'net score' table? People normally see it in a skewed way depending on who they want to win.

I'd consider Arne Slot tactically equal to Ten Hag and he does better in interviews and media ( I can see him become like Ancelotti over time). But it would make little sense to appoint him at Utd at the moment, except to keep people happy.

Remember Webb said they would make said changes from last year. Still nothing.

As for the main ref it depends on the recording of the communication. If he was clearly told it was on or offside. This on the offside part, then the baf judgement of the other things should penalize him but that depends on the practice in the league which i dont know. Around here he would probably suspendend for a few weeks and then either demoted to tier 2 or very limited tier 1 low relevance games presence.

You would hope not. Surely it's mere incompetence. I just did a quick google of PGMOL apologies in the last 2 years. Arsenal have had 2, and teams playing against Spurs have 2 so maybe the refs are spurs fans ![]() Incidentally there have been more apologies given to teams playing against Crystal Palace than any other, with 3. I would imagine that if there had been a big spike in bets on Palace, it would have come out by now.

The fact that the refs were literally reffing a game (the only time this season btw) in UAE just 48 hours before they reffed this game reeks of fishiness. I don't want to jump to conspiracy theories, but it doesn't sit right. Shouldn't be flying 15 hours just a day before a huge game anyways when that's going to impact your ability to concentrate and make the right decisions. Heads need to roll. Howard Webb needs to resign or get sacked and the entire VAR team from this game needs to be fired. VAR needs to be operated by an independent 3rd party.

It was a bad mistake but I think the reaction has been a bit OTT. Making the VAR tell the on-field ref onside or offside would have prevented this. If you sack the officials for this, where are you finding better ones? I am a WBA fan and the Championship refs are worse. The abuse received by refs is appalling. The expectations for accuracy and speed are sky high. The tolerance for mistakes is near zero. Nobody suggests a player should be sacked when he misses a penalty. Nobody implies he deliberately missed either. Why would anyone want to be a ref?

Indeed this is probably the first time I’ve ever heard the claim made. Just what point are you trying to make anyway?
