Lenormand gets a yellow for a tactical challenge in the midfield. but Can doesn't for a very very similar foul. The players don't know where the line is, meaning they play hard. And playing hard leads to injuries and very ugly football. Luckily both Spain and Germany have enough class to have calmed the game down themselves, but Taylor has no control, is making mistakes and both teams know they might get away with murder if they have to.
There’s a certain inconsistency aye, either you gotta clamp down early and show that shit won’t be tolerated, or alternatively be somewhat lax and it be that kind of game that a ref doesn’t want to ruin by being overzealous

I wasn't very impressed by Can, but he seemed far better than Andrich, who has had an awful start. Why do that change?

As I said, wasn't very impressed. But Andrich has so far lost his man twice and gotten a yellow for a foul the second time. At least Can somehow escaped yellows

Germany just isn't as clinical as Spain unfortunately. Btw. Füllkrug was pulled there too, gTank. Just in case you want to establish a line of your own.

Spain has been a bad match-up for us in the last decade, and it is the same thing today.
It also does not help that Spain is, in my opinion, the better team.
I am actually really impressed how the team reacted after the 0-1. There is still hope.
The referee is indeed not very good.

Eh, he was the last line. Yes, Torres was all alone and the ball was going to the outside, but Mittelstadt fouled the player who was "breaking through". Taylor hasn't been consistent in anything, but if there's anything he has been penalising it's tactical fouls, and this was one. As was Torres' foul seconds later, which was a rugby tackle to stop Musiala from making a run for it.
