What are his chances of succeeding in the Premier League? 29 is not a standard age for a Brazilian to come to Europe. Basically zero I’d say, if he’s never played in Europe before. Seems odd as moves go. 10/15 years ago you’d have players of the requisite ability to move to a big European league despite playing their whole career in South America, but nowadays the top players are starting off their careers, or finishing them over there. Hey I’d love to be wrong on this one, best of luck to the bloke

Hey I’d love to be wrong on this one, best of luck to the bloke I hope he does well. Its definitely a strange move. I guess the guys at Forest felt it was cheap and not particularly risky from our point of view, with a small chance of paying off. He's more interesting than your average footballer. He arrived in Nottingham yesterday and there's photos of him skateboarding around a packed Saturday afternoon high street before he's even met up with the squad. He also plays guitar and is into classic literature and philosophy apparently, and does a hilarious Bri'ish accent.

He's Brazilian, they don't have last names. I joke, they do, and Roberto Carlos' last name is da Silva Rocha. So either D or S, depending on the rules. That also means R misses out on Romario, Ronaldinho and fat Ronaldo. Seems like that takes it out of the running.

Beckenbauer, Beckham, Bergkamp, van Basten and Batistuta seems like a pretty good base to build on ![]()
