edit: Also draw against Georgia is not enough. Really need to beat the other teams to qualify.

Mexico fans start throwing bottles etc, attacking USMNT players, then start chanting homophobic slurs and the Refs call the game early. Now imagine this happens during the WC... I went to see the "lowlights" of the match and it was definitely worth watching. The ref is atrocious too lmao

Poland won 1-0 but Germany had 76% possession, and 26 shots (9 on target) vs 2 shots (1 on target).

I only watched the first half and the first few minutes of the second, and during that first half, there was no Germany for more than a couple of minutes and a few irrelevant long shots. Poland was in control of that match in the first 45. With the terrible coach they (Poland) have, obviously started the second half playing like he loves parking....and germany started really hot but inconsequential (that kimmich left foot bomb should have gone in tho).

I'm not disagreeing that he could get more play time but even if they fielded him I'd still think the striker position was their weakest. Berisha from Augsburg Füllkrug and Berisha are not world class but both are way better than Havertz as a 9 and good enough to beat Ukraine and Poland. I used to rate Flick but hes been so bad all of 2022 and 2023

I used to rate Flick but hes been so bad all of 2022 and 2023 I just don’t think Flick has the time to get them playing in the manner his Bayern did. The international game and the club game have a more divergent skillset in terms of coaching than they ever have really. It’s why I’m pretty confident that a Zidane or a Mourinho will have more success if they make the switch eventually, much more than I’d have in Guardiola or Klopp if they did. If you don’t have the time to drill your boys into executing your signature gameplans, that’s a huge part of your skillset rendered mostly useless. Why I think England fans are generally mad to want to dispense with Southgate, he’s not without flaws but he is good at the English job and its specific demands. The inter-club rivalries that players from the ‘Golden generation’ have spoken a lot about, not a thing. The camp is a happy one, the relationship between players and media, players and fans is better than I ever recall it. Would his deficiencies be ruthlessly exposed in club football? Absolutely, but he’s a pretty good fit for that particular gig
