I think some punishment would have been appropriate but not that combo of a 3 game ban and a hefty fine. Context and intent are obviously very important, but they’re not entirely a get out of jail free card either. Without further information as to the exact circumstances Kieran Trippier’s ban is bloody ridiculously harsh too it seems. Especially given the backdrop of tons of gambling sponsorship and advertising surrounding the game and the media that covers the game. | ||
