Arm chair coaches are saying Kerr is dumb for not playing Steph more in this year's finals. I don't think Kerr is dumb or making a bad decision with Steph's playing time. I think Steph's conditioning has not fully returned. Steph's foot was messed up which meant he could not keep his cardio up to NBA 40+ minute-a-game standards. Top notch cardio doesn't just return at the snap of a finger. Also, you need your body to be healthy enough to handle the cardio conditioning routines. If your foot is messed up you probably can't do the best routines/exercises that get your cardio back to top level. Steph is noticeably slower in every 4th quarter of this finals. There is no magic potion Kerr can give Curry to cure that problem.

Now, for the Celtics, if they do come back and win games 6-7, I don't see any front runner from them for Finals MVP. It's going to depend on who steps up for those two games. They do seem to be the deeper team but nobody has consistently showed up and played well.

Wiggins is wide open on more than 60% of his 3s and taken more wide open 3s than any other Warrior. He has shot 32% from 3. Wiggins has taken 1.. that is right ONE 3 pointer where he was covered. He was wide open or open on every other 3. The interior Celtics defense is crippled by the fact that 2 guys are chasing Steph and Klay 30 feet from the basket. This makes it easier for Wiggins to drive inside. His shooting is below average this series and in the playoffs. Wiggins has evolved from a below average player to an above average play. However, I gather extreme takes are the in-thing on this new fangled internet forum board technology eh? During the big Wiggins debate there was some guy calling Wiggins "trash" while i evaluated that he was a below average average starter with an outside chance of being an all star. For added humour i'll include a line from the Canadian Poly thread... On May 23 2022 08:19 JimmyJRaynor wrote: 43 years ago today Joe Clark became the 16th PM of Canada. And after shooting 0-9 from three in game 5, he's still at 40% for the series. That's still a pretty good mark. Now, for the Celtics, if they do come back and win games 6-7, I don't see any front runner from them for Finals MVP. It's going to depend on who steps up for those two games. I think it will be Tatum. He is the engine that drives their offense. Like unless Brown or Smart go bonkers which is possible I'd say Tatum is the big favorite. For the warriors I think Wiggins, who has been their second best player could only win if he went for like 50 and Curry had 10. And even then I'd still place my money on Steph, because you can always make the argument his gravity alone is the most important part for the Warriors and he was the best player in every series. It was surprising that Wiggins was their second but Curry is the super star.

He has been their second best player all playoffs, it is not just me saying that it is everyone who watches the games from Lowe to the Woj. DeRozan is a hell of a basketball player, 2nd team all NBA and a starter on the All star team, so I'm not sure why that would be a burn! Wiggins is just better from deep and a much better defender. No team is putting DeRozan on on the opponents best. Funny how you still think you are right and you guys went from being he's the worst player in the league, what an awful contract Bazemore, porter, or whoever is way better Blah blah to now, He's only as good as starting allstars and 2nd teamer all NBA. Confirmation bias is a hell of a drug! + Show Spoiler + second best GSW odds for MVP, 3rd over all WAY ahead of Klay and green. But you guys know WAY more than Vegas! https://dknation.draftkings.com/2022/6/14/23167361/nba-finals-mvp-2022-game-5-odds-favorites-picks-predictions-wiggins-curry-tatum

TBF I've never been one of the people saying he's the worst player in the league or even a bum, just overpaid and not a #1 option. I've been fairly consistent in comparing him to Derozan and have always felt his proper place in the NBA is a 3rd-ish option on offense. His defense has improved, which makes sense because defense is mostly effort, and it seems like he's trying harder (maybe because he's on a better team, and finally in his proper fit?). I've questioned his effort in years past too, same as I question Harden's most years. He's like the... Phil Kessel, of the NBA.

My main recollection is JJR and rowdybob saying he was the worst and all sprts of scrubs were better than him. My point was not that he was going to be the greatest player in the nba. Just that he was an above average young player who could develope into basically what he has, he has basically improved on everything outside of his freethrow shooting which is strangly low. He also plays a crazy amount of minutes and games, especially for this era, and being available is a big deal. On his defense I also said it was really underrated and used lowe articles and cleaningtheglass stats to back it up. He was a pretty good on the ball defender and not a very good team defender. KAT was awful at both. I thought on a team with better team D, leadership and rim protection he would end up considered a top defender. JJR would only ever point to DRPM and say it took all of that out and showed he was awful. However as soon as he was traded that magic stat has continued to show him as a top defender. When I pointed it out, it was a glitch. Id be shocked if he went to some bad team amd turned around their defense. I think hes a really good 2nd player on a team and an amazing 3rd who stays healthy. Hes worth his contract and might soon be a NBA Champ! Pretty good for a guy who was a T wolve and NBA whippimg boy for years.
