My main complaint after the last England game was it was a dull and laboured performance. 5-3 is anything but dull. Sure some poor defending and it's only Kosovo. Shouldn't be to excited beating such a small nation. But it's good fun to see a lot of goals.
It's a different Yanited now. It's no longer big names and expect to win everything. So time should be given. But at least some results have to come along as well.
edit: Also North Korea and South Korea are in the same Wolrd Cup qualifying group. Sure that's a good idea.

whats wrong with north korea vs south korea? tbh theres no where near the same amount of antagonism between those two teams compared to when we vs china or japan.

You are probably right. China vs Korea in Chnagsha at the height of that THAAD bollocks was fairly tense. I don't even understand the handbags between Japan and Korea at the moment. It doesn't take much to get idiotic nationalist angry in this part of the world.

My biggest gripe with England's line up at the moment is Barkley. That guy is useless, I don't see what everyone sees in him. I suppose he's dynamic and moves play fast, but his end product is just so bad. No vision, shoots too often over the bar from miles out, makes terrible decisions, and he's selfish and wasteful. Get someone younger and smarter in there. I'd much rather just replace him with Mount and reap the future benefits of that.
The defensive mistakes yesterday were the result of a surprisingly attacking performance by Kosovo I think, rather than an indication that our defense is rubbish.

Norwich plays City on Saturday. Talk about a rough start when you've played City, Chelsea and Liverpool 5 games into your PL return campaign.

Valencia owner (The Singaporean Peter Lim, the same that appointed Neville as a coach back then) has suddenly fired Valencia's coach, Marcelino. And probably the sporting director (Alemay) will be out soon. Marcelino and Alemay's project qualified the team two years in a row for CL, won Spanish Cup and reached EL semifinal. After several terrible seasons before them. Of course now everyone in Valencia is rioting against the board.
I really don't understand what owners think sometimes. It is like they want to fuck their money and project.
|
The best guess around seems to be that Lim didn't like Marcelino critcizing the lack of transfers. Sacking him just based on a single complaint seems very harsh, but who knows if they've had more going on somewhere behind the scenes.
Still, seems like a horrid move based on the information we've currently got available.

They are technically still at war. I don't think that it is good idea, considering what kind of regime rules N.Korea.

To add to this, there was a ton of unified Korea sentiment at the PyeongChang Olympics last year

And North Korea always plays its home games on neutral teritory. As long as that remains true it is probably fine. But now I can see that their next game is in Pyongyang... Which is bad, to say the least.

The last game was held in Pyeongyang... 7th April 2017, AFC Asian Cup Womens qualifiers. It wasn't bad.
Also the reason for them playing abroad was always only that they refused to play the SK anthem. Everything else was fine. And they got over their anthem fear, so this is resolved as well.

The man is worth about $4 billion, one has to wonder why he waited so long.

Aw... I much as I'm cheering for Liverpool's title challenge, that's not the boost I was hoping for.
Is it going be Stones-Otamendi as CBs now?
|
oh come on, no one in England can challenge Liverpool without Allison or City without Laporte
The only thing Laporte's miss could affect is City's CL season

I'm glad we're finally at a good point where we can rest Lacazette and let his ankle recover. Don't see any particularly hard matches for the next few weeks (including the Man U game which, besides their opening week domination of Chelsea, they have not looked good)

Came from Eintracht Frankfurt. He's a rather offensive, creative LB, lacks a bit on the defensive side and I believe Frankfurt's coach didn't like his work rate.
Liverpool still looks strong as ever, even though they were down that victory never seemed in danger.
