Also Bale will finally go where he belongs - outside of big football.

Really? The way they shot in 1996 was "I dont care what the gk does, I just convert my 100% penalty" Nowadays penalties are like "damn I hope I can misdirect the gk and score on the other side"

Köpke doesnt move around on the line or come out to meet the player to posture and only leaves the line shortly before the shot is taken. Seaman moves even later, basically only when the ball is struck or very close to it. 1. more psychological pressure 2. goalies moving much earlier and coming farther forward 3. both taller and more athletic goalies (also applies to players but goalies benefit more)

It's probably a very different thing for the player if they can just do whatever feels natural whereas nowadays you can probably expect the goalie to know your shoe size and preferred breakfast, not to speak of the penalty shot preferrences and patterns.

Please don't come out here to China though. As much as I would love a chance to see him play (Not likely now I left Beijing and QIngdao got relegated a while back). But he deserves to be playing top quality football at a club more classy than Real. Well, when you come out and say that you would rather play golf and not leave... You get what you deserve. No self respecting player will just sit in a team that doesn't want him just for the money. I think that it's clear that he knows that he is not worth 17M euro a year and is just trying to hang in. No other european team was willing to pay him this salary... Maybe he should be grateful that Madrid payed him that much and should just leave when they are asking him politely. In the end, I agree, he was treated like garbage. And deservedly so.

Edit: a couple of cringeworthy spelling mistakes. I'm sure there's more I missed.

My patience has paid off in awe that arsenal keeps signing attacking players despite giving up the 3rd most goals in the top 10?

I think our defense will be a lot better should we get Tierney in addition to Holding and Bellerin back from injuries. At least we should only allow about the same number of goals as the other top 6 teams this upcoming season

Just saw our selling of one of our youth squad wingers (Amaechi) for €2.5m plus a sell-on clause, so that's a bit more to work with
