bill o'brien is the modern day matt millen for the texans. you could have gotten a cheaper, more durable and younger WR with that second round pick given the depth at the position this year.

Yeah Cooks really has trouble staying on the field, and while he is definitely a good weapon, there are other players out there with a higher ceiling and more reliability than him. He tends to make boneheaded moves on the field which result in injury, most notably the super bowl with the Patriots.

Fucking tragic, I loved the XFL's potential and the product that they put out there. Really a breath of fresh air for professional football. They even did an act of good will by refunding season tickets in some situations.

I don't think that'll be the end of the XFL tbh. They'll probably appeal to NFL owners as a recruiting bed like the NBA/MLB does and use it to find new talent they didn't draft. Or give a place for troubled athletes to keep playing and make some money.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did bring it back next year with some kind of funding run. At worst, it'll be back in a few years.

So you guys think NFL is on track to start on time this season? POTUS is optimistic, but he also said we'd be gucci by Easter too lol.

My friend is a huge football guy and he didnt even want to discuss the possibility that the season might be delayed (let alone cancelled all together).

August is coming quick. Just a thought that came to my mind.

Probably sports will be back by August, possibly with no fans. The fact is that a shutdown of the economy from ~ March 10-August is insane. Such a measure would have a death toll far exceeding the worst coronavirus models (IMO 5-10 million over 5 years). Shutdowns are an extreme measure that cannot continue. The federal bailout is masking this fact temporarily, but reality will set in by late April/Early May. By that point government employees like teachers will have to stop being paid. Police and fireman will be furloughed. The media who dictate the narrative will see their ad revenue plummet.

The reality is that we have to figure out paths forward quickly. Masks, goggles, and distancing when possible. That is the only way other than 1) Millions dead from Corona, 2) Millions dead from Economic Depression, 3) Billions dead from triggering event.

Disagree on many fronts, but this ain't the thread to talk about it. All I'll say is that the Federal Reserve is doing things now that they have never done before, things that wildly change the logistics of institutional finance both public and private.

Games will be played without a live audience is my guess.

Lamar Jackson says he'll be on the cover of Madden this year.

2-3 Nebraska players are projected to be drafted. 2 in the first 3 rounds. There's also a few that might get free agency looks around the league.
