Nice to see Lando do well. His twitch stream got me interested in F1 earlier this year.

They said "You are P10" and he just sounded flabbergasted in his response after that. Everything I've seen online has made it seem like sentiment toward Ferrari has absolutely tanked. Their treatment of Vettel combined with how Binotto spoke of him plus it becoming more obvious that they were doing something substantial against the rules with their engine last year has seemed to have stirred up a lot of ill will toward the team. To be fair, if Ferrari actually did what it sounds like they did to Vettel (tell him in Australia that he was their top priority for his seat while negotiating behind his back without telling him and then signing someone and dropping Vettel out of nowhere), that's pretty poor on their behalf. On the engine thing, one team losing a second of pace with a certain engine in a year would be a coincidence, three teams with the same engine losing up to a second of pace suggests that Ferrari either got their engine for this year shockingly wrong, or they were getting a massive boost from something last year that they aren't using this year. In a way I kinda feel bad for Sainz. If Ferrari doesn't get their act together, Sainz is going to be going from a pretty decent McLaren to a pretty iffy Ferrari.

Yea I caught that Leclerc radio as well. With regards to Sainz, one can at least hope he's getting a much better deal/package by going to Ferrari despite the car possibly being worse

I've kind of resigned to this season being like 2016 where I just ignore mercedes and watch everyone else. It sucks but at least it's something. But who knows. Verstappen seemed to think Red Bull's race pace could possibly keep up with Mercedes.

The problem is that due to covid and one extra year with these cars and regulations, its essentially two championships to Mercedes. This seems like another year where hamilton will have the "hard" task of beating an average bottas to the championship.

Gutted for Albon. He could have won the race. His explanation was good and the video backs it up. He had left Hamilton plenty of room yet Hamilton continued to go wide on the exit of the corner. There's no way Hamilton didn't see him there. Whatever. Austria almost always gives at least decent races and we have another one to look forward to in less than a week.

I didn't expect a 2019 Mercedes engine to be so strong that it will dominate the other manufacturers engines aided with a 2020 aero package. Ferrari engine boost was terminated with the settlement with FIA. Being an "illegal" boost worth 0.5 seconds a lap was astounding And in other news, ALONSO IS BACK!! https://racer.com/2020/07/07/alonso-poised-for-f1-return-with-renault/ Looks like Renault will fall apart in 2021 /s

"The rules, are should we say, guidelines?" https://sports.yahoo.com/news/charles-leclerc-warned-over-coronavirus-182443787.html Honestly this is kind of disappointing. Leclerc seems like a good kid overall, but he continuously does shit that really shows how much of a spoiled rich kid he is. This kind of behaviour could literally shut all of F1 down in the worst case scenario. Did he really need to travel to Monaco to party in week 2 of the fucking season? Like come on man lmao.

Lando's chest could be a result of jumping into Zak's arms at speed last weekend. I've cracked a rib before and it's a struggle to even breathe at times. Can't imagine driving an F1 car in that kind of pain. The penalty was just boneheaded though. Just spaced out and kept driving despite multiple warnings from his engineer.

Yea I was just reading some more into it and realized it was back/chest pain. There's a handful of video clips of him after the race complaining about how hard Zak hugged him so it's actually looking like the most likely reason lol. Hitting 4-5g while breaking with back/chest pain must be excruciating tbh. I agree the penalty was 100% his fault. I'm not at all upset that he got hit with one, but I'm still sad as someone who wants to see him do well.

Excuse me, wtf is Ferrari doing? Everyone were setting their fastest times knowing that qualy might get cancelled due to rain, which would make the order of FP2 the grid order for sunday. Meanwhile, Vettel is doodling around in 16th place doing a long range test for his mechanics. Ferrari just seems so incredibly out of touch with anything happening around them.
