I think he initially missed the ball on the play, that is he committed a reach in foul and did not deserve a jump ball. However, the remaining talk that he "headlocked" Green and the like is laughable. That is all on Green's stupid flailing. IF you think there was ever a moment when Lance deserved, or was close to deserving a jump, the only subsequent foul is on Green, who rolls through and does something that is a borderline tech. The sequence goes like this: 1. Ball over his head, touched by Lance; 2. Green attempts to bring the ball behind his own head, pulling Lance into him; 3. Flailing, but Green has brought Lance into a physically superior position, so he loses, Lance is actually fairly nice here and does not slam him at all (which would have been fine); 4. Roll through that was unnecessary; 5. Green does his stupid gesture. The only legit call against Lance is the reach in, which I think would be a good call. | ||

there are no objective ways to compare a player from one era to another on equal statistical grounds even if their position and play style is the same as there are a lot of variables and complexities. it always ends up with old people being nostalgic and young people being captives of the moment. fun fact about statistics tho: kobe is a better passer than lebron in clutch situations and this is significant because lebron plays point and kobe has lower ball possession time in 2-minute mark. the caveat here is that kobe had shaq and gasol while lebron "only" had kyrie and love and dwade bosh, so centers vs. shooters. apples and oranges, but it just proves my point about use of stats and goat conversation. lets just enjoy great games and great players. | ||

The VanVleet/Siakam/Poeltl line up has a stupid high net rating of +15.6.
