i think more interestingly is that a guy only won $16k on a $800 bet on UMBC win. like how do u only get 20:1 on a 1v16 seed game where the #1 seed had been 135-0?? like i dunno much about sports betting but that seems like real bad return

IKR, it feels like he should have won a lot more. I heard RJ Bell saying it was 25:1 in a lot of places and this guy only got 20:1 but either way I feel you.

EDIT: anyone watching the Raps vs OKC?
OKC might not be great but not sure teams want to face them in the playoffs.

Carmelo's defense will be exposed though (Raps should go at him more). As for the Raps, Derozan's 3-pt range might be exposed TBH, teams gonna make him prove he can knock it down I feel.

Expounding a little more on Calderon:

I've always loved Calderon's game but in 2018 (and going back to when he was with the Lakers ~2 seasons ago) I didn't feel comfortable with him being the main backup PG (assuming ball in his hands in PnR's etc). He could do as secondary playmaker out there but stretching the floor while using his deadly aim is where he is best at now IMO. I can see why they thought D.Rose and him could fit in in this way...

With Clarkson now I can see that theoretically working out too. Clarkson is a great penetrator BUT his passing is def not at the level of a Calderon's. One of the more irritating things about Clarkson is he has trouble making the skip pass when driving and that would be key to playing with Calderon. For these reasons I can see why they would give more ballhandling responsibilities to him with them both coming off the bench. Calderon is slower but methodical, and his outside shooting keeps PnR defenses more honest with what little burst he has left.

I think you nailed it. The raps are near unstoppable when the 3s ate falling. But when they are not it becomes a slug fest. It will also be interesting to see how their depth works when teams have more rest days in the playoffs.

Where they hitting them at the start? I started watching in the 2nd quarter but ya they will be a fun team to watch in the playoffs.

Adams is a Beast. Unless I am forgetting someone, I think him and Gobert are the 2 best centers right now and I would probably take Adams in a playoff series even though Gobert might be better at defense. Adams is just tough as nails.

the Raptors were 15 for 30 from the 3.... and they lost... so umm ya.

Dallas and OKC were both packing the paint the last 2 games.
Both Dallas and OKC were daring the Raptors to hit 3s. its a good strat... it got Dallas into OT with the Raptors and it got OKC a win.

Jack Armstrong's analysis of the 2-man game executed by Adams and Westbrook is bang on. They went right at Derozan and JV every chance they got.

The only time Toronto consistently stopped OKC occurred when Derozan's ass was stapled to the bench.

50% from 3, don't see why stop shooting? I didn't feel they were daring them from 3 too much except for some derozan but I haven't watched opponents versus them all season like you guys have.

If derozan was off the floor doesn't that mean some of OKC's starters were off too? Raps bench is def better. Not discrediting btw, genuinely wondering.

If those are the TSN guys I watched their feed today and liked them. Pleasant surprise.

Edit:just caught response Jimmyc, thx. Agreed on the defense part too

True, Felton was on for part of that.

That said, of all Toronto's guards Derozan is their worst defender by a pretty wide margin.

Derozan is PnR victim #1 for any smart offense playing Toronto.

Jack Armstrong has won the "Canada Screen Award" for best sports analyst 2 years in a row. He is American so its tough for him to win that award. he deserves it... he knows his stuff and isn't afraid to call out bad plays by the Raptors even though the corporation that owns TSN also owns the Raptors. The guy has a cult-like following.

for in depth Raptors coverage of home games i recommend Blake Murphy. He doesn't travel with the team.

https://www.raptorsrepublic.com/2018/03/18/quick-reaction-raptors-125-thunder-133/

"DeMar hit some huge shots late, but he was a pylon defensively in this game, and a huge part of the reason the Thunder offense made it look so easy."

The Raptors need to quit whining about bad calls. As Michael Grange states : "their perception of officiating does not match reality".
https://www.sportsnet.ca/basketball/nba/raptors-unravel-perception-officiating-doesnt-match-reality/

That play on Derozan was a 50/50 call; it could've been called either way. Brewer got a big piece of the ball.

Both Derozan and Lowry are veteran flim-flam artists who know how to draw ticky-tack fouls. They get whiney when their tricks don't work. I'd recommend that they "shut up and dribble"... but that slows the ball down too much. They need to "shut up and play on".

Had Derozan managed to maintain his composure the Raptors are down 3 with 12 seconds to play. As it is he melted down and so did the team and the game was over when Derozan got T-ed up.

They were legit right about the bad officiating that game. Maybe instead of telling players to essentially shut up and play, we should understand inconsistency from Refs affects their performance.

The Warriors are messing up the fantasy playoffs. It might come down to the guys who managed to pick up Swaggy P and Quinn Cook off the waiver wire. And that guy who has Draymond...

The L2M report backs the referee's non-call of Brewer knocking the ball away from Derozan. Derozan needs to shut up and play. The biggest victim of poor non-calls this year is Spencer Dinwiddie. Ironically, Dinwiddie was one of only 2 guys to show up to the referees open forum at the All-Star break to discuss issues with poor officiating.

If Derozan can't bother to show up at these proper forums for discussing officiating issues like the one at the All Star break he should shut up.

I'm sure Raptors fans are going to take this L2M report and begin to cast Derozan in the role of Lee Harvey Oswald.
