Haha what the hell "Genetically, we are behind," said Strachan. "In the last campaign we were the second smallest, apart from Spain. "Maybe we get big women and men together and see what we can do." Scotland's starting XI in Ljubljana were more than three centimetres smaller than their opponents on average. And Strachan said they had been unable to combat Slovenia's "height and strength" at set-plays. "Nobody can tell me that, apart from one player, they are technically better than our players," he said. "But, physically, we have a problem. "We can fight it, battle it and get through games on sheer determination and work-rate and that takes a lot out of you. Let the Scottish monster footballer breeding program begin. He makes me laugh with how idiotic he is with his saying one thing and doing the opposite; We have no captain's in this squad, no one has the relative experience, we don't have champions league winners, or premier league winners in this group. Is a quote, he has Cahill who captained Chelsea to the premier league title last season and won the champions league in 2012. Bertrand also won said champions league in 2012 xD Then he follows up with after the game; I won't let players return to their clubs, we have a duty to go to Lithuania and win for the fans who have already paid money and got tickets to go. I will play the best team. Continues to make several changes, the first 11 looks very poor on paper with 2 complete debuts and others playing 2nd or 3rd game. Only good part was he finally played 3-4-3.

Because Spain is bad at football with small players, they only have 3 Euros and 1 WC xDDD

More importantly, they always make the upcoming young stars skip the u23 tournaments because hey let's promote them to first team. I think such tournament experience is vital, but no let's think short term instead.

In all fairness, here in germany the approach of promoting U21 players to the main squad has been working about quite nicely in recent years. So I'm not convinced that this is the main issue. About dropping underperforming players, you surely got a point there. But then some "fresh" players tend to be young ones and might be eligible for U21 ![]()

That just a one off them ?
