People saying shit that makes no sense, you dont use academy players, i list academy players. They don't stay in first team, i list ones that been in first team and then conversation is well they don't become Chelsea greats or whatever.

Our average age has declined by a full year this season compared to last year, that isn't because we signed 12 year olds is it xD

Our way of grooming young players is you make them dominate Europe and domestic Youth tournaments, get them out to a club to gain first time experience from La Liga/Bundesliga/Championship/Premiership then they come back when they are ready to compete. Just because we don't want to wait 3 years of them playing less than 20 games before they are ready doesn't mean it isn't working our way does it. Barcelona don't even do this anymore, they loan them out and sometimes even sell them with buyback clauses and they were the best at "bringing through youths".

There is a difference between getting into a squad and some appearances and becoming a first team regular. And in Bertrands case being surplus to requirement. And fuck if I know how Jody Morris is. And I'll take a gander that includes 80% of the people here if not more.

You presented a long winded explanation of the system. We do this, then we do this, then we do this. NOW PLAYER IS READY! Except hes clearly not because after a little bit of first team squad action they become a footnote in Chelsea history.

The bottom line of the arguments presented by Duck or Evilfat is that way of grooming has not created first team regulars so clearly there was no culture of doing at it any point since this club has become successful in the modern sense

Whatever Barcelona or Lililput FC or "X team please refer.." does is irrelevant. They are not the point of discussion. Barcelona doing whatever is a Barcelona thing.

No one asked what Chelseas methods were. You confuse the issue with all this rambling

Here is a repeat of the issue below followed by a summary of how you reacted to it.

X person says. Our young players are not being given a fair go in the first team.

Y Person says, well your club doesnt really have a history of consistently given young players a fair go anyway, so why complain now. This is how your team has always done it

Pande says,

"YAHAN WE GOT YOUNG PLAYERS LOOK AT THESE GUYS, WE SENT THEM TO EUROPE AND EVERYTHING, OUR YOUTH TEAM WINS CL AND EVERYTHING AND RYAN BERTRAND WON THE CL + Show Spoiler +
(forgetting for a moment that the CL win itself papered over what was an extrememly flawed and shit team otherwise)

AND DONT YOU FORGET JODY MORRIS AND LOFTUS CHEEK. JUST COZ THEY NOT LEGENDS + Show Spoiler +
(farcical, you can be a servicable first team or squad player that doesnt get traded away or fall into obscurity)
"

You see the disconnect here? You are addressing things no one cares about or is even arguing.

Sorry your football knowledge doesn't know who Jody Morris is but he managed over 120 apperances for Chelsea in a period where we won 2 European trophies, 2 FA cups and a League Cup
But anyway if you don't know a player or the club how can you comment on how academy players are bought through when you clearly aren't watching or even researching? Our SQUAD in this seasosns premier league squad this season has listed 3 academy graduates and a 17 year old we signed from Exeter in it.

Not having a history of playing youths is flat out wrong, in the premier league it is rich, since Roman came though that statement is a lot fairer but it still happens and still has happened and will continue to happen.

The worst fans on the planet prolly lol

Hey if klopp was managing Chelsea and we finish a season in 5th place but playing attacking football, I'd be supporting him. When you play defensive football and stubbornly refuse to change anything despite bad results, you deserve to be turned against.

Fans expect to be entertained. If you subject them to defensive play styles, you jolly well make sure the wins are there.

Oh and not giving our academy proper opportunities and ridding those from there isn't exactly helping in Conte's cause.

I find that hard to believe, you are telling me if Klopp loses to 0-3 to Bournemouth and 4-1 to Watford while playing attacking football you wouldn't be calling for his sacking?

Chelsea fans need to learn to have faith to their manager for once, I've lost count how many times Chelsea sacked their manager in the past years. Roman has created a toxic environment for managers, players feel they have the power to oust anyone when shit goes wrong because they know the manager will be the first to go. Who in the right mind would want to manage Chelsea now?

Well I definitely would be less frustrated/annoyed. At least show that we're the bigger club, that we will dictate the game. Even against inferior teams, we're playing like a smaller club with our 7 defenders and hope for Hazard magic every game. I can't stomach this. Although Mourinho 1.0 was also defensive, but we bullied teams with our physicality and siege and showed them who's boss.

At the end of the day, it's all about showing that we're on the right track to success. Doesn't matter to me if we go trophy-less. Conte has shown time and time again that he will not change his tactics despite them failing ever so often. Bakayoko has proven that he is worst than a garbage can, but still gets selected. Cahill has been a liability for 3 years and still sometimes is ahead of rudiger/luiz. How do you have confidence in your manager when the team is going downhill and the manager is not going to change anything. His ego is bringing the club down.

On youths...

I do agree we never really had a history of blooding youths. But then again, our academy wasn't as strong as it is today to warrant a push for it. That said, while I really like Chalobah, Kenedy and Ake etc, I honestly don't think they will become greats. But what I'd like to see at least is them getting chances to prove themselves. Right now there's not even opportunities to show that they're not good enough for the club. Maybe we'll never get another Terry and I'm fine with that, but at least show that we're trying to produce one.

Nah he watched every single one of these appearances live during his biennial visit to stamford bridge, it's just that he is rapidly approaching 30 and his memory isn't what it used to be.

In January, Salah was received by Egypt's president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Minister for Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz to be praised for his achievements and thanked for his contribution of 5m Egyptian pounds (£200,000) to the Tahiya Masr ('Long Live Egypt') fund to strengthen the economy.

Salah also donated 30,000 euros to the Association of Veteran Egyptian Players and when offered a luxury villa by a businessman as a reward for his winning goal against Congo in the World Cup qualifier, he rejected the offer and asked for the money to be donated to his home town.

Portuguese football is a telenovela now. Benfica and its president are mired in corruption allegations and under investigation while Sporting's president is throwing tantrums and having an emotional breakdown in public, demanding a despotic consolidation of power around him. Porto so far is steering clear of drama, despite pretty much proven corruption practices in the 90s and 00s and their coach being a notorious hot head. We have flags disturbing VAR, cracks in the stands interrupting a Estoril-Porto game at half time where Porto was losing 1-0, Benfica's president being officially constituted a 'defendant' (sort of, differences in legal systems) in a corruption scheme to name a few incidents.

During prime time there are around 4 or 5 cable channels covering the drama, each with representatives from the three main clubs arguing with one another. All of the above is a shame, since this season is actually the first in a while that the three top teams are quite competitive at this stage.

Balotelli back to the azzurra

Honestly, seeing Balotelli happy is one of the most satisfying things in football

Guy had a terrible career but he always seemed like a nice guy

So happy he is having a good season at Nice

I guess you never did anything wrong.

Maybe he wasn't the best, maybe he is spoiled, but come on, some empathy is always good to have, i know his situation was far better than billions of people but he struggled quite a bit and seems to finally grow up snd realize he is not a kid anymore.

Maybe he has a shitty backstory as a child with low income and whatnot and found himself winning millions and not knowing what to do.

I don't know, i rather see him happy, everyone deserves a second chance
