Imo so far the fight for top 4 looks incredibly tense, but city has been showcasing a higher top level and consistency than the other teams, the second real test comes tomorrow though.

However that wasn't formation issue, i liked what we did. Second half was just one way traffic and some superb goals. Looking good that, however 2 week international break fucks us up now! Worrying that hazard was anonymous though. Still not liking the attack because we were gifted 2 goals by a crap defence. We needed 2 classy finishes as well. I'd prefer simpler goals because it shows a system worked, rather than moments of brilliance.

Fergie got away with this when RVP carried his last title win for half the season with wonder goal after wonder goal while the team played like ass. That and all the other teams falling apart while United did improve after Christmas. But the aftermath is there for all to see. Honestly Liverpool looks the only team outside of City that looks deep and solid enough to play well for an entire season. Arsenal would be there to but they are not as injury proof as the other 2 in the depth department.

Hazard/willian/pedro with ball on the wings, and they pass backwards or to fab/Oscar outside the box. Dave/iva in good positions to cross, and there's only 1 Diego in the box waiting. All this is fine if you know how to pass and open up defences like arsenal or barca, but Chelsea sucks at it. In mourinho 1.0 Chelsea, our system was simply to brute force our way to goals. We dominated midfield, drogba overpowered defences. Waves after waves of pressure/crosses into eventual goals. We also have players that dare to shoot from outside the box. Chelsea now just wanna pass the ball into the net, but our players just don't suit it. Yesterday's offence though was encouraging as compared to the past few games. Not sure if its the new formation. Just hope hazard adapts well to it.

He has saved two penalti kicks against Atlético today. His record saving penaltis is 19/37. More than 50%. He is the goalkeeper that more penalti kicks has saved in all the history of La Liga already. Edit: the first of the two saves: https://streamable.com/70jv

No stats, but I'm inclined to think that teams going 8-0-0 and not winning the league is a pretty rare phenomenon. Agreed. Feyenoord is the team to beat this season. Quite surprisingly. Both Ajax and PSV have, on paper, a deeper roster, but Feyenoord is looking very good, and also their substitutes are performing. Still, in the last few seasons they have often collapsed quite seriously after the winter break.
