Arsenal vs Real and Barcelona vs Bayern have pretty high chance of happening, the most likely matchups are Atletico-City and Dortmund-Sevilla.

Since you play the second game away, if it goes to extra time, you get 30 more minutes when your goals have double value. Let's remember that this is not a fringe situation, CL games going to extra time and series decided on away goals happens all the time.

But the counter argument is obviously: Winning the group means you get potentially 30 more home minutes ![]()

They were guaranteed first in the group also they are 2 points above relegation zone and they play Manchester City (who will have one more day of rest) on staurday, to be honest it would be more surprising if they tried.

He supposedly has been putting all his money from advertisements and such in tax havens and what not. I love how this is only happening in Spain btw, i mean like why is Spain the only country to do this, im sure in England it is 10000x as worst as instead of 2 clubs paying high wages it is 20 xD I thought Gianni was gonna be a good FIFA President, but so far he has been caught in his own money issues already, claiming money when he shouldn't on expenses? Now he thinks its a great idea to have 16 groups of 3 teams in which 2 go out....i mean England's pretty boned ![]() I know for a fact some players who do the same thing as Ronaldo. All not in / from Spain. So yeh it probably happens everywhere.

Yeah this was what i was going say but also add they are in terrible form right now. Even if they rested/changed the team you could argue its Ranieri actually trying and they have absolutely no confidence and this happened. Still they topped the group no matter what and are a seeded team for Monday.

Come on, CL draws don't work like that. First, we have to have repeat matchups from previous years. Then we have to have at least 2 "bad" matchups so that we can have another "bad" matchup in the quarters. So here's the draw we're going to have on Monday: Arsenal vs Bayern Barcelona vs PSG Leicester vs Real Napoli vs Leverkussen Monaco vs Benfica Juventus vs Manchester City Atletico vs Porto Dortmund vs Sevilla

Yeah but at the end of the day unless there is some clear benefit to coming second in terms of what matchups you get (which usually isnt the case) you would much rather come first and get higher odds of matching up against a weaker team. Under normal circumstances that is the case. The fact that Real and Bayern finished second in their groups is an anomaly you cant really account for.
