5% is very easy, like I could go do that myself starting tomorrow with only the help of google.
10% of body-weight is considered an easy-to normal weight cut.
15% is what top guys who really have it down do if everything goes perfectly, without a significant drop in performance
20% weight cut is on the hardcore end, where you'll have performance loss, really struggle to hit weight, bad for your health, etc. If that's what the fighter has to reach, success rate is probably 30%~ in the UFC.
25% Ballpark figures of largest weight cuts achieved in the history of UFC. Probably not possible nowadays with the IV ban.

thanks for the detailed info. i think he probably makes weight. Hendricks has fucked his career into the ground so badly that its tough to apply the phrase "nothing to worry about" to anything Hendricks does. at this stage watching him miss weight is more entertaining than watching him fight

has he already been cutting to get to 197, or has he been stuffing cheeseburgers in his face all week long?

I'm not sure exactly, but Hendricks usually cuts weight from 205-210, same as Lawler (17-19%), and he usually makes it, minus the last couple times, but even then, he was very close.

The idea when you do any kind of strength training is that it's very difficult to gain muscle on a caloric deficit, so you get strong while putting on a bit of fat, then you eat super clean for 2 weeks and do exercise to rid of that fat (while preserving maximum strength)... So there you can expect to lose 5% of you weight or whatever, and then the last couple days you eat no salts and drink distilled water to to get your body to lose water. You'll also go to a Sauna, sweat everything out, pee everything out, laxatives to get empty your bowels, etc. That's where you'll lose most of the weight.

In simply terms, 2 weeks of losing fat, then 2 days of losing water.

A normal athlete to gain strength needs to be in that 10-13% bf% range, much like body builders, before competition you cut everything to try and reach 6-8% while keeping as much strength as possible. The heavier the weight class, the higher the bf%, as your body wont really let you get huge while being super lean. But for 145-170 pound classes, you're not really getting huge, so you can maintain that body fat, while light heavyweights can easily workout at 15%+ body fat, simply because without steroids, a normal person can't reach 230lbs at 10% bf.

Also, I'm glad you found my post helpful

Just remember, Cyborg cut 25lbs in 4 days for her last fight, and usually she finishes her camps just north of 170lbs.

thx for the additional info.

Meltzer is reporting the PPV buy rate for UFC 208 is in the low 200K range.

So UFC 206 does 150K; the woman making UFC 207 a financial success is gone. No PPV in January. UFC 208 ~ 200K. If ever the UFC is in a position of bargaining weakness it is now. Let's see if the Diaz Bros. and GSP cash-in on the lack of star-power the UFC has in its stable of fighters.

That is pretty weak, still surprised how much Rousey sold in UFC207 though.

In 2016,if you exclude Ronda and Mcgregor average PPV was 366k (though that's kind of a one-off since UFC 200, if you exclude that too, you're down to 284k)
In 2015, if you exclude Ronda, McGregor, JBJ, and Diaz, average PPV was 295k.
In 2014, average PPV was 254k
In 2013, if you exclude Silva, GSP, and JBJ, average PPV was 297k
In 2012, if you exclude Silva, GSP, and JBJ average PPV was 294k
In 2011, if you exclude Lesnar, GSP, Silva, Jones average PPV was 231k

Which kind of shows the drawing power in the UFC isn't really going up at all minus the big stars. Right now, really the only fighters that have drawing power above that average are McGregor, GSP, JBJ (idk, a DC vs JBJ would do maybe 600k), and maybe maybe Nick Diaz, but I have no idea.

Though the numbers are a bit surprising to me when I was running them through. I was expecting more growth.

here is the comment from your own source: "The deal has not been finalized, but the promotion is aiming to have St-Pierre compete in the third quarter of 2017. "

what my post added is a direct confirmation from the UFC rather than speculation from a reporter.

bad analogy. GSP has been going back and forth with the UFC for months including telling TSN week after week he was ready to fight at UFC 206. So until the deal is done.. its not done.

my post adds new information. i guess you do not fully read your own stuff.

just when i thought we were done with the Halo Wars 2 advertising... any how..

Firas Zahabi's brother is fighting and he is kicking ass. Nice to see Zahabi's brother win. Firas is such a 1st class guy and his brother seems the exact same.
