Will be a football-free summer next year. Don't really have a favorite team apart from NL. Might have to cheer for Spain I guess.

Although Croatia should have scored, Mandzukic had some fantastic attempts that were super close, it was nonetheless a totally deserved victory and a really impressive game on our behalf. I'd assume any Croatian commenting on the game will have the opposite point of view - that this was Croatia's worst game in years, but still. ![]()

Things are really bad in Croatia. Fan support for NT (and football in general) is all time low, due to non football-pitch reasons for which I don't have the energy to try and explain here. This naturally spills over to player performance, most of them are practically walking on the pitch rather than running. This doesn't diminish Norway's win today, they played great, smart and efficient. They knew exactly what they want and how to get it. Croatia can only learn from their teamplay, passion and motivation.

Losing 3-0 vs Turkey is just pathetic though. Going down to 10 men against Iceland has never been a reason to worry about in the past, especially not at home. What bothered me is there was no fight in the team, or rather there was no "team". I guess I may have been pessimistic, but I just didn't see us winning against Turkey today. I also think Turkey are on paper a much better team than Iceland, who are struggling for some unknown reason. Blind's team selection and his speeches before the match seemed rather odd as well considering how poor we have been. Anyway what scares me most is how poor Blind and de Vrij were today. I mean they were godawful and these guys are supposed to be the future? I'm already looking forward to the Riedewald generation, 18 years old and he looked like our best player.

Not if you beat Italy last game. By that time they will probably secure Euro, so they might not be overly motivated to play their best. Assuming they beat Bulgaria and Azerbaijan and you beat Malta, ofc.

Yeah it was pretty telling that the best player on our squad was an 18 year old debutant :| Great talent though, Riedewald. He's gonna be one of the best center backs in the world in a couple of years, guaranteed.

No love for your favourite neighbours? ^_^ The Euro Cup just got a little less exciting without the prospect of beating the Netherlands ![]()
