in my opinion way better than john stones (or any young british defender out there), and they don't have to pay a grossly inflated amount for bailly.

40 millions for average defender like Bailly is grossly inflated.

I don't get why though... The midfield now: Busquets, Mascherano (DM), Iniesta, Rakitic, Turan, Rafinha, S. Roberto, D. Suarez (AM). Roberto might be playing more games as a RB, but still that's too many players for just 2 spots... Imo, we should focus on signing a right back and 1 or 2 forwards (low-key, cheaper type). We don't need a CB or another midfielder...

Rafinha had a 8 month injury and he never proved to be Barcelona level regularly. They get Dennis Suarez very cheap anyway because the buy-back contract.

RB - Pique - CB - Alba Busquets Iniesta (32) - Rakitic Messi - Suarez - Neymar (? does he stay) I mean barca need 2 starters and possibly a couple of cm's to rotate heavily with Iniesta now he getting older. Neymar also supposedly could leave due to Barca needing the funds and the player doesn't seem to mind leaving.

My point was more that I hope they're planning on selling him for more than the clause because I don't see him playing much next season in Barça... I listed Mascherano there because technically he can play DM, but it's true that we saw more often Roberto than Mascherano in that position this year. I hope they won't give up on Arda yet, the guy couldn't play until January, there was no way he could adapt so quickly. Actually, the 2 that joined last summer (him & Vidal) haven't performed at all. Finally, Rafinha has potential, I think even more than his brother, I think he can play a lot more games next season. Piqué, Mascherano are top CB, and Mathieu + Vermaelen aren't bad and aren't complaining on the bench. The team needs a top RB, maybe a more physical midfielder type Keita, and 1 guy a bit better than Munir to play 20% of the games when MSN rest (Copa and end of season games I guess xD).

Source 2 - Daily Mail Source 3 - The Sun Source 4 - Sports Skeeda Ok i don't know who the last one is but that was just a quick search and top 4 results. Barca in financial issues has been alot of headlines in the past they are struggling to keep up their huge wage bill cuz of their big players. Neymar also has been quoted as saying he was open to working with Pep and Man Utd are big club etcetc.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are the ones with the highest debts, around 600m+ each, and supposedly getting bigger, but theres Juventus, Inter, Atletico, and others too. honestly, that should not be allowed, and its unfair. I mean, at least put a maximun debt to compete in european tournaments or something.

It is more involved with ensuring that clubs dont engage in behavior that is irresponsibly increasing their debt on a yearly basis Which in theory sounds fine, but is pretty useless.

As technically Barca and Real are 1 bad season away (in terms of Revenue) from being crippled right? But Real will never have trouble due to its links with the Spanish royal family right? And Barcelona have similar sort of thing with their side? Or is it just Real who would get bailed out People are way too hung up on debt. As long as your revenue stream is fine it's all good. It's basically how every company in the world works. Of course there's a risk to it but that doesn't mean it's necesarilly bad. These clubs also have an incredible amount of assets to serve as colleteral.

However if we had a bad 3-6 months we would go pop even with the assests we have (owning the tyre depot land etc) but with Barca and Real if they were to say finish 6th twice in a row you might have the same oh shit moment. Unless football clubs are really out there in another planet ?
