They just paid 55m pounds for Martial who is 19. They have the money for it. They are following the Financial Fair Play, so why not?

Then we decide be good time to say bye bye to JT...yeah thats not good. He still plays every game as CB, without him we still have nothing. He had to stay, even if doesn't play we need him around the club and i guess he feels he can still play reason it looks like he is leaving He should have just retired at the end of this season, no reason to play in America/China.

We need to seriously invest in our defence

Breaking NewsMan City Announce Pellegrini OUT in the Summer - Pep in; 3 Year Deal
In the announcement (can't quote it as i only have a press picture on mobile) they did this after cemented the contract in the last few weeks. Now telling Pellegrini he will be relieved in the summer and Pep takes over on 3 years. Also they mention in this statement they were in talks with Pep during 2012! And they are happy they finally have their man. "Manchester City can confirm that in recent weeks it has commenced and finalised contractual negotiations with Pep Guardiola to become MCFC Head Coach for the 2016/17 EPL season onwards.
"The contract is for three years. These negotiations were a re-commencement of discussions that were curtailed in 2012.

"Out of respect for Manuel Pellegrini and the players, the club wishes to make its decision public to remove the unnecessary burden of speculation.

"Manuel, who is fully supportive of the decision to make this communication, is entirely focused on achieving his targets for the season ahead and retains the respect and commitment of all involved with the leadership of the club."

Well a little disappointed that he didn't choose United but I guess City would be a better fit for him with the status of the squad and the spending power.

Shame, bit of coward move in my opinion, I wonder if his next project will be in China? Or coach of the German national team. They don't even have enough supporters to fill up their small stadium, no history what so ever, not even a project like Jose took on at Chelsea since they already have been challenging for years. Obviously I'm bitter but doesn't change the fact it seems Pep takes the easy pay day every time. Hes also ruined english football for the next few years and maybe beyond, cementing the plastic club as champions elect and dominant probably. I'd rather liverpool have him, at least its a team with history even if it is our rivals.

Nothing wrong with being an assistant for another 3-5 years for Giggs then taking the job, it is not like he is old is it. If he took the job in 10 years he is still only 50 and has another 20 years ahead of him if he manages to Fergie age. But indeed only time will tell on that part.

This offseason will be fun, one Manchester buying a new, bigger bus instead of a real coach and the other spending 200 million on Thiago who just randomly loses his legs after 3 games.

As much as i like Pep as a coach i am very skeptical with him and ManC. I look at that roster and see like 4,5 players that can play the style he plays now. He has to spend like 100 Million on a couple of defenders alone. Or can anyone imagina a Kompany led pep defense? I cant.

Sure if you were working for Google you'd be going to a smaller company for less money, less prestige...

He wanted to go to England, so there's not so much choice. Man U, Man City or Chelsea. Other clubs can't have the prestige he wants. He knows the direction in City and they have tons of money to allow him to compete in Europe.
All the top coaches choose the big clubs with tons of money because they can go as far as their ambitions... Ancelotti and Mourinho did the same, but nobody blames them for taking the 'easy pay' x)

Concerning the team, there are a lot of good players already, but no tactical discipline. Hart, Zabaleta, Agüero, Navas, De Bruyne, Silva, Touré is a good base to start. I can see him looking for a Xavi-like player like Veratti, Gundogan or Koke + a technical CB, and he'll be good to go and win that Premier League on his first year.

I wonder how Yaya Touré took that news

RM has been trying to sign Messi for years, now they move on trying to steal Neymar. Surely he won't have those problems with the law if he worked there, if you know what I mean
Excited to see what Pep is gonna do at City (unless he really tries to sign Messi/Neymar too).

I have doubts about Touré staying as a base for the team. His relation with Pep is bad, and his agent has critized him lot of times (even this year). It would not be strange if he leaves.
