Always pause in the chest. Pausing in the chest =/= relaxing on the chest. I will elaborate: The proper technique in bench press involves a pulling motion (barbell to chest) followed by a pressing motion in which a pause, even for a split second should always happen. A typical mistake is "resisting" the bar on the way down (instead of actively pulling down) and then pressing.

If you plan to compete in powerlifting, GoTunk is the most successful powerlifter here, so listen to him (and a couple others, but mostly him.)

Combined with gravity it seems like a great way to break your ribcage, but I am sure that that is not what you mean.

While keeping your scapulas retracted (as you should during benching) you bring your chest to the bar while rowing the bar down. Your arms and chest are activated to resist the weight, but you are pulling it down with back and gravity activation. The result is a quicker but more controled descent.

I will have the chance to bring stuff from USA free, Could anyone recommend the best whey protein for bulk purchase ? (I usually buy whey on gold, it's super expensive though, buying a 20lb bag at the US would still be worth it for me)

Also have one of these for legs and whatnot: ![]() How much better is the longer one vs the smaller one. I have the original, find it a little harder to roll on it for some areas of my leg. Wouldn't mind paying for a longer one if it's more stable

I use bodybuilding.com and they ship to Japan for roughly 70$ a can shipped, vs something like 55$ from the USA which isn't too bad

It still tastes like dust, but I got a good price on it. If you can handle the lack of flavor it might be a good option. There have been so many controversies on /r/fitness about fillers in the protein that ON is probably the safest bet until the definitive research is done.
