the UFC did a really nice job with the fan experience for their Stadium show in 2011... making even the worst seats semi-ok with multiple jumbotrons on each side of the ring. i saw both Wrestlemania18 and UFC129 in that stadium and the UFC did a far better job than the WWE as far as viewing experience goes. it'll be interesting to see what the UFC can pull off with this stadium show. This will be tougher job for the UFC though because a CFL Football field is only about 60 meters wide. I think an Australian rules field is at least twice as wide. Maybe they'll stick the ring near a corner of the field and just try to get 20,000 people? The WW title fight with GSP drew $12.8 million in 2011.

The UFC will use Holm's boxing credentials/awards from 9 or 10 years ago to hype up the fight to the casual audience. i guess Rousey needs a tomato-can to set her up for UFC 200.

You pretty much summed up my exact thoughts on the matter.

But hey, the Ronda hype train draws in the casual watchers like you said so pretty much guarantees a good payday for the UFC, which is what matters to them. if/when Cyborg gets to 135 is when I will care about that division. Until then I just see Ronda shitting over everyone else.

http://www.ufc.ca/event/ufc-fight-night-saskatoon-canada-2015 This is a big important event... it really is... Joe Rogan says so. and dont ever tell me nothing big ever happens in Saskatoon. This is where Bret Hart defeated Ric Flair for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. <<drops the microphone and walks off the stage>> all joking aside, Tom Wright deserves a lot of credit for the surgical geographic placement of this event.

Oliveira still has not been released from the Hospital. i hope the guy recovers fully. I'm no DR, but nerve injuries can be difficult to fully and completely diagnose. http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/8/24/9197137/charles-oliveira-explains-injury-hopes-for-rematch-against-max

http://mmajunkie.com/2015/08/ufc-esophagus-tear-forced-charles-oliveiras-early-ufc-fight-night-74-exit ummm, wow. "A timetable wasn’t given for Oliveira’s recovery. However, if not treated immediately, esophagus tears can be life-threatening conditions since they can allow “food or fluids to leak into the chest and cause severe lung problems,” according to Cedars Sinai. Oliveira is expected to remain in Canada for a few days of tests and rest"

Looking online it says the outlook is good if caught within 24 hours, goes down the more time passes naturally. Either way holy fuck that's crazy. Hopefully he is able to recover and get a rematch. www.nlm.nih.gov

Travis Browne was accused by his wife of beating her. No charges, no conviction so it'll be interesting to see what the UFC does with him. His wife is now saying Browne is having an extra-marital affair with Rousey. Rhonda has bragged she could take on the UFC Heavyweight Champ in a fight... well.. she might get her shot against a top 10 UFC Heavyweight if all of the accusations and innuendos by Browne's wife are true. ![]()
