Wow they have to replace Silva for Luiz... That's really awful. Luiz wasn't even supposed to be ready tonight, so much risk for him. If he gets injured, season's over...

I doubt that's even a foul by Neuer. He tips the ball to the side, after which the player tumbles over him. It'd be a penalty + red had he missed it completely.

Oh, and VdW is the most overrated player ever. What a turd.

Definitely could have been, then again a lot of people see him catch the ball, in that case it wouldn't be anything at all probably, but I can't see it and unless there's concrete evidence I think Neuer got very lucky.
And I don't think that it's a coincidence that we see to last man fouls on consecutive days and both only get a caution.

Think Neuer got the ball there, so I don't think that should have been anything at all. But if it was a penalty, it should have been red too. A rule's a rule. Either it was a foul, bringing down a player in scoring position, or it was not a foul at all.

From the replay I saw Martinez did not poke the ball that far. Neuer first fouled him and with the same movement touched the ball which accelerated to the side.

I dont think Martinez could have touch the ball to that angle in the way he was going

No he didnt touch the ball. Neuer's left foot was supposed to catch the ball or stop him. However his "irrelevent" right foot touched him. No red card for me.

Out of the big leagues spain has the worst referees in europe BY FAR. That was one of the worst halfs of refereeing i have ever seen. Always the same with spanish refs

no way was the penalty a red card as well. penalty+red card is when it's a foul inside the box that hinders a clear goal scoring opportunity, like the kind of goal scoring opportunity a penalty is. in this case, either Neuer doesn't foul him at all, in which case it's no penalty obviously, or he fouls him but the ball is played so wide that Dante can easily clear it, in which case it's a penalty and at most a yellow card.
