He'll regret when they start losing though....
Social networking can been a very hostile place for owners, managers and basically anyone to do with a football club. The club I support Exeter City was getting tonnes of abuse on their Facebook page near the end of last season mostly aimed at the manager saying performances where unacceptable (they where disappointing and we where way to close to relegation zone) and that the manager Paul Tisdale should go. But it’s very easy for idiots to write that kind of thing without considering the consequences or the reality of the situation. If Exeter City a tiny club at the bottom of Legaue 2 in a pretty undesirable location to most people involved with football sack our manager who has been amazing for so many years (he is the second longest serving manager in the football League behind Arsene Wenger). Who are we going to get in instead to replace him? We’re no Real Madrid as much as some of the fans keep demanding to know why we’re not buying better players (we’re very much a train and sell club). Brendan Rogers isn’t going to leave Liverpool and come and sort Exeter out. We almost certainly will be in a worse off position if we got rid of our current manager. But these simple facts don’t stop the torrents of abuse on Facebook. That’s just the reality of all football fans been able to express their opinions. A lot of them are bad.

How did everybody's club start their season preparation? Any hot prospects who used the absence of wc-players to show some skills? Are you happy with the first match played by your new players?
My club Feyenoord lost 4 starters, 3 of which were key and all we got in return is a washed up Boularouz. So far we looked really poor without our world cup players and now that they have been sold off it's not going to look any better. This season is going to suck so badly, probably not going to make it through the qualifying matches for European football again and not much to look forward to in the league either
Sorry to hear that Ysellian : ( It would be so awesome to have a strong core of Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord back in european cup competitions. I wish you good luck that you'll find a few young guns that storm through the league : )

I don't know man. The year when Kagawa played at his best was amazing but that was years ago. I'd never say no to Shinji and from a marketing perspective it could make sense but then you have his inflated pay check that needs to be paid. On the other hand I expect Reus to leave next year and if Klopp plans to use him in a central position instead on the wing again then Shinji could get used to Dortmund during the year and guarantee a smooth transition. A transition that we in my opinion don't need him for because we have Hofmann and Jojic who are amazing. I want those two to make the starting 11.

The Soton chairman just came on Sky Sports News and said that Schneiderlin and Rodriguez are not for sale! If true, this is a big blow for Pochettino. Schneiderlin was his most important player and would help the rest of the Spurs squad adapt to Poch's style more quickly. Also, without Rodriguez, Levy will probably buy someone like Depay who is incredibly overrated and overpriced. Griezmann is already gone and there aren't any other reasonable LW targets.
Between this bad news and Hector Moreno (Poch's #1 CB target) breaking his leg at the WC, it's not a great transfer window so far!

30M€ and you can get Gaitan he's a reasonable LW target for that price

I dont trust the Soton chairman at all. I dont know about Rodriguez but Schneiderlin will definitely leave.

I haven't seen much of Gaitan (he didn't play when Spurs faced Benfica last season) so I have to ask you: is he better than his stats indicate? He scores almost no goals (1 in 24 matches in the CL), has a mediocre amount of assists compared to top tier wing players, and has been left out of the Argentina squad since 2011. What makes him worth so much money at age 26?
Imo he was one of the top 2 players for Benfica last season along with Enzo Perez. I would say that Benfica would sell gaitan for 25M, but since we already lost most of our dominant squad front lady year (markovic, Rodrigo, Garay, Siqueira, oblak and André gomes) i would say that he wont leave for less than 30. Enzo is probably on his way out to valência for 25m so well completly deetroy all Team.
To answer your question, he is much better than his stats led us to believe. But thats my personnal opinion but i think that most of the people that followed some games from Benfica will tell You the same.

Very sad to see a great club like Benfica forced to sell all those players. I hope the financial situation turns around soon.
In other news, the Schneiderlin situation is getting ugly:
It's hard to blame him for being upset. The club just sold every other star, and he's trying to break into the France squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
Yes, the chairman just did phone interviews with multiple media outlets and said that no more players are leaving. He claims that no players were initially for sale, but they allowed Shaw et al. to leave because they wanted out and the prices were irresistible. Koeman apparently wants Schneiderlin and Rodriguez to be the core of his squad moving forward, so the selling is over. It's hard to know whether he's just saying this to stop the panic, since the club also said that Shaw and Lallana definitely weren't leaving a couple months ago. Either way, Schneiderlin isn't taking the news well.
Blackpool officially have 11 players in their squad now, horary! So at least they can field a team. I don't know much about the situation but I can't find a goal keeper in their squad on their website or and of the new transfers so I think they're be looking for at least 1 more player. It’s still a very tough league, all the best to them.
Sparta Prague V Malmo was 2:2 at half time. Lots of goals, I’ve been vaguely watching and Malmo had looked the better team when I have been looking up. Prague has just scored two quick goals giving them a commanding 4:2 lead now. Malmo must feel a bit unlucky.
Also ESPN's football/soccer site I have used for years because its always been the best in my opinion and had the most easy to find and search information. But they have totally wrecked that site trying to make it friendly for smart phones and I almost want to cry using it now. Any recommendations for a better fixtures, results, news soccer site? I guess BBC does the business.
