I'd say pretty much any top 5 west team would have taken down Indiana. And I think top 8 is fairly arguable considering playoff Indiana... maybe not vs regular season Indy but still.

Like the mid tier west teams are like the mavs/grizz whereas the east have the hawks/Knicks. Top teams are roughly equivalent and bottom teams are equivalent, it's just the west has better mid tier teams the only top team the east have is/was heat. i would even go as far to say any of the top 6-7 west playoff teams would win against anyone but the heat 100%. dunno how u can say equivalent when its like 1 top team vs 6 top teams.

Anyway, I absolutely LOVE what Cuban did to Houston, I think this is the most interesting move in free agency since I can remember. This is a pure front office battle - a time where front offices can actually impact the team, so fun! For anyone who isn't following it (or feel free to correct me if I'm wrong): - Houston wants to sign Bosh and keep Parsons. The only way they can do this is to sign Bosh, then use Parsons' bird rights to sign him (and go over the cap, most likely) - Dallas offered Parsons 3 years / 45 million (he's a restricted free agent) - Houston has 3 days to match the offer sheet, or Dallas gets him - If Houston matches Parsons' deal BEFORE they sign Bosh, they won't have enough cap space to sign Bosh The extra wrinkle is: - In order to sign Bosh, Houston has to get rid of Jeremy Lin's contract This means, Houston has 3 days to (2 days now): get rid of Jeremy Lin's contract and convince Bosh to sign, and then match Parsons. If Bosh doesn't decide, they will either keep or lose Parsons, but if they keep him they lose Bosh, and if they lose Parsons they may also lose Bosh... This puts them in an insane situation. Dallas realizes that if Houston keeps Parsons and Bosh they become arguably the best team in the West, so by throwing this wrench in, they potentially destroy Houston's team and pick up a solid piece in Parsons along the way. #Amazing In other news: the whole LeBron/Carmelo thing is so stupid. This offseason is the dumbest thing ever besides the Dallas/Houston front office battle it's been reported that the 76ers have agreed to take lin if everything else happens (houston will need to throw in a couple of sweeteners probably). if bosh takes too long houston can still keep parsons, and they won't have to dump lin (who, despite all the flak he got for playing poorly in the playoffs last year, is still a decent backup pg). losing asik will hurt (if that trade goes through as well), but the rockets still have some cap room to work with even after matching parson's offer sheet and knowing morey he can still piece together a set of decent backups. this roster won 54 games in the west last year, and morey is one of the smartest GM's in the league (at the very least far smarter than you or i). cuban may be laughing because he hates the other two teams in texas (and would love to see them go up in flames), but there's no way morey's caught with his pants down here. would be incredibly uncharacteristic for him to be unprepared for this scenario, especially since numerous journalists were writing from day 1 about how any other team in the league could screw the rockets by doing exactly this. also, cuban kind of forces lebron's hand here too, because if lebron takes too long then bosh's offer is probably gone -- so with this offer sheet, cuban is putting pressure on lebron to choose fast, otherwise he likely fucks over his good friend (unless he goes back to miami, which, who knows).

It's almost like he's making a major life choice and wants to consider it carefully. When he decides everyone will find out . They aren't going to keep it secret.
