If we put a buy-in on it, I don't mind dealing with the money so no one runs off with / forgets about it again.

People complain about talent dilution every expansion ever then forget about it in a couple of years. That being said I would rather see failing franchises moved then new franchises added. Also, on a side note if anyone has a billion dollars they want to lend me I would love to get into the ownership groups. Thanks in advance for your co-operation. eh idk about that. It just means a couple more AHL superstars will turn into shitty third liners in the NHL for a few years and fizzle out. The AHL is pretty much career pluggers, skill guys not good enough to make a top 6 but too shitty in other areas to play safe hockey in the bottom six, or developing players better served getting 15 minutes a night instead of 5 on the 4th. Seriously, who is in the AHL that's getting boxed out of the NHL? Calgary is icing a team full of turds, and there's definitely some shitty skaters elsewhere in the league and they're not getting displaced. I hope it's two teams and not four. That would be silly. It would also fuck up the divisions.

Obviously if we only had 6 teams they would all be loaded. But if we have more it won't all the sudden make everyone worse, there will still be great teams and awful teams. And the difference between a current 3rd-4th liner and the AHL is pretty small, not to mention the KHL players and so on. I would think it would be 2 also, probably leaking 4 so people are like WTF and then when 2 happens they are like, well that makes sense. I mean the unbalance east to west suggests they were planning something anyways. mediocre players will get paid more money, caps will have to rise, ticket prices will go up. Everyone loses except the league who gets 4-5 billion in expansion fees out of this.

I hope this goes trough though. Also, people shouldnt worry too much about the game being watered down. Its been said since the 70's when they started adding franchises and guess what, the skill level and the speed of the game have never been so high.

If you think the Toronto franchise wont go for a billion you are dreaming. After the escalation of sports team prices in the NBA this summer, 350 might be the floor Also, people shouldnt worry too much about the game being watered down. Lots of things are different from the 70s.
