After the escalation of sports team prices in the NBA this summer, 350 might be the floor What does one thing have to do with the other? Lots of things are different from the 70s. I dont know. I dont think the rights to an NHL franchise could be worth a billion. Except for NYR/Toronto I dont think any NHL franchise is worth that much. Its not like they would be buying an established franchise.

I mean of course it's going to be good for the owners, if it wasn't why would they do it? dispersion draft sucks, it will take at least a few years for those teams to get competitive, and a few years for the talent dilution to get caught up i mean 2 more is definitely necessary now, but anything more than that would be silly

Give 'em green jerseys and call them the Roughriders and they will fill the rink every game! (of course that would have to be like half the population of Regina, lol).

I have always thought it would be great to expand to Europe but I know the logistics would be a nightmare. But you could easily have a market over there for a half a dozen teams or more.

Oilers go up real high in a hurry after an expansion draft. Add in a diluted talent pool for the skilled kids to dance around and we could see some major increased scoring league wide.

i dont care for extra goals coming by way of shittier skaters or bigger nets. i'd rather have more meaningful goals than lots of cheap ones generated due to shit like that

Which would be a lot of player's since they want to add 4 teams.

As a Hawks fan I'm excited because of 24/7 for the Hawks but outside of that I think its a really poor choice for who is playing the Caps. Does the NHL really think there is no one else that would have bigger appeal for the Winter Classic than the Hawks? There's a half dozen teams I'd rather see play the Caps that have bigger rivalries and would be more interesting games. It's definitely a bit of an odd matchup. I'm also a bit hesitant about the 24/7 as last year both teams really seemed to close HBO out and not let them follow the team as much, and the program quality suffered as a result. I hope its not precedence for the coming year.

Whose management was terrified of failure, and whose players knew they werent top teams so didnt want to look like asses on television. Just like the Caps. Much rather have seen Sharks-Kings or Montreal-Boston

these were all approved i believe. the wc pick sucks. so does losing hbo. but honestly, it was expected, with how the leafs and wings both shut out cameras. hockey culture is so lame sometimes. supposedly the league is going to produce their own version, but shit like the water bottle police wont be a part of it
